The significance of the Rumble in the Jungle

I could only imagine the hype going into that fight and the shock when ali won.

It's gives you certain feelings you can't duplicate after the fact.

Ali dared to do things other so called legends would'nt even consider, especially these days with the multitude of titles, easy for fighters to hide and avoid the meaningful fights.

This fight always makes me feel like a "boxing fan for real" now when I see it. I think this "effect" I'm gonna mention has been discussed in this forum before, but when I first saw this fight, it looked to me as it was described in this article, like Ali was behind, and pulled this come from behind victory with some crafty "strategy". I was only starting to watch boxing with real admiration at that time. Years later, some fans were discussing the fight, and talking about how Ali was ahead on the cards at the time of the stoppage, and I was like, "huh?" and re-watched the fight with far more seasoned eyes. I thought Ali beat Foreman's ass the second time watching it thru.
