The Schaub's new comedy special You'd Be Surprised trailer

He isn't a natural comedian. He has to constantly work on it. I can see him getting busted for ripping premises off in the future when he gets lazy. Some comedians don't watch other comedians but Abu Shaubi watches old comedians for inspiration. He ripped off some mannerisms from Chappelle like hitting the mic on his leg.

Joey Diaz, Bert Kreischer, Tom Segura, Christina P, Ari Shaffir, Tom Papa, Tony Hinchcliffe, Bryan Callen, etc. Have all benefited from being Joe Rogan's friend. Schaub gamed the system so I give him props for that. The guy is constantly looking for ways to make a buck and piggy back off more talented people so good for him.

Plus guys like Sam Harris, Jocko Willink, Steve rinella who all had fans and platforms but joe got them to podcast and they blew up a lot bigger. Or guys like Jordan Peterson who became really famous after being on rogan. JRE is a great platform for lots of peoples careers. Doesn’t take anything away from Shaub tho.

He's going to get in trouble a few years down the line when some east coast guy calls him out on it. West coast comedy is about that we should work together and do each other podcasts to uplift each other. He is part of Rogan's team and honestly it is a pretty strong faction in terms of comedy right now.

It's actually impressive how comfortable he is on stage. The jokes might be funny in a dinner party, but he struggles to put it in arena standup format. I'm at the part where he kicks turkeys in the head and I'm done. Not watching any more of this.
 
I still haven't had the nerve to endure more than just short clips.

This is still the weirdest nonsense ever. This thread was made over 3 years ago and kept alive by keyboarders that thought they were going to be the reason why Schaub would crash and burn in 2020.

I think he actually plays comedy parking lots and struggles to sell tickets and has to cancel shows due to poor sales, that’s what a heard on YouTube so it must be straight facts

Based on this calculated guess, he's doing well. But it's kind of known he spends so much. He was making a lot more when he had a fixed salary with Showtime for five years, but when that was gone, he was hoping he'd be a Netflix-profiled cawlmedian but he's not.
