Roy Jones went to heavyweight and jumped back to 175 to defend his title and was never the same. Ironically, the guy that beat him, Antonio Tarver, also became a heavyweight for the filming of the Rocky movie, and when he returned to 175 he was never the same either.

After bulking up, Conor is coming back to a weight class he already had difficulty making. Healthwise, this seems like such a bad idea. I hope he gets some real experts in there to help him with dieting, or at least Mike Dolce.

Dee Devlin is drawing up the dietary plan to return to 145 as we speak fellas.

Biggest difference between the two is the age factor as Jones was in his 30's when he pulled the move. But CM is still in his 20's and there is a lot to be said for the amount of damage they both had at the stage of their careers when they went up and down in weights.

Agreed, I hope his performance doesn't take a hit after this next weight cut..good chance of it being worse than the others.

He really didnt look to me like he gained any muscle, just far less lean. But I agree, him making 145 again seems like it will be hell.

I don't think McGregor did bulk up , you can't bulk up in that period of time , not with genuine useable muscle .

He simply came in at what i suspect is his natural weight without making a weight cut (168-170lb ). He probably loses 8-10 of those pounds during his training camp , then weight cuts the rest in the 24 hours before the fight through dehydration .(145lb limit)

How much time did Jones take from between the fights is what you should had posted.

If Conor fights in 4 months then his chin will probably feel it. If he takes time to recover, he will do fine.
