The recent trend of no bad guys in entertainment

This is one of the reasons why I hated the joker movie. In addition to just being a crappy movie.

I don't need to see joker's sad origin story. It needs to stay a mystery. Not everyone tries to be good at first. Some people are just evil.

I think its because symphatetic villains have been best villains in media for a while and everyone is trying to copy it

Thing is some characters are better with an evil fuck and some stories as well.

Symphatetic villains work as "ends justify means type" character like silco in arcane or punisher but doesnt when person is just force of evil like joker or piece of shit like penguin

I have noticed the trend. It fits with the pussification generation. The other things I noticed is for some reason these suck ass writers can't make a real good baddie sometimes. Madame Web, The Marvels, Black Panther, Suicide Squad, The Acolyte, goes on and on. Alan Rickman is missed.

Yea, youre fulla shit with this Black Panther hot take, Killmonger was dope as fuck and brutally vicious

Yep, children's films.

Maybe explore outside of Disney, eh?

He sucked. Cry baby with a bad haircut. They should have used Ulysses Klaue as the big bad. Michael B Jordan ruins everything he is in besides Fruitville Station.

I agree that Ulysses Klaue was dope and I wish they didnt kill him( if they made him the villain, all the chatterboxes would be in here complaining about white woke bad guy blah, blah, blah even though he woulda been great in the role) and Michael B Jordan definitely sucks in almost everything he's in which is what made his bad ass character here so surprising, I dug his performance and his story arc, I wish they woulda retconned and made him the new Black Panther in a redemption piece after Chadwick Boseman passed away

It's a current trend with millennial writers, it's a sub-conscious desire for their own sins to be absolved and for them to not look like the bad guy. Disney is especially bad with this trend, I mean they went out of their way in a Cruella DeVille origin film to make it so it's the Dalmatians' fault she was a villainess.

The vicious bloodthirsty assassins in American Primeval were just being rascals
Fucking hell, man. What tough work that was, I watched it because I like Kitsch and there was a FLDS prophet involved but there was no respite at all it was so hard.

Good lord. GAAAAAAAAY

Another recent trend is putting a women on a pedestal simply because she's a woman ....

The entire cast of Fast & Furious series are fuckin' criminals but featured and eventually evolved as good guys yeah?
Riddick (Vin Diesel)?
The Scorpion King - originally featured as a bad guy but then came out with its own movie when hes a good guy.
Didn't Darth Vader turn into a good guy at the very end and returned balance to the Force?

This shit is not new but instead of complaining privately with friends people now can complain online.

That's what Tolkien was going for in the Simarillion. That orcs were perversions of elves, trolls of ents, etc. I haven't watched rings because the majority of feedback has been that it's terrible, but did they manage to get that point backwards?
Yes, in season 2 they introduced that orcs have families now and serve Sauron because they fear he may hurt them.
Such bullshit.

This is why PREY was better than any Predator movies where the Predator is nice or works with the human in any way.

i think i get the trend you're referring to, in film. where female characters can do no wrong? written as perfect uwu beings? the worst latest example ive seen of this is in house of the dragon tv show. people try so hard to be feminist that they come out with crap writing that's more insulting than anything else would have been. human beings are flawed creatures, and that includes women, no?
