The REAL problem with USADA. TLDR: Get RID of USADA. Also, I offer an armwrestling corollary.

Easier solution.

Test + once and banned for life and fined total fight purse of which you aren't paid, so it has to come out of your own pocket from previous funds.

While I see your point from a logic standpoint, when the testing system itself is flawed, there is going to be instances akin to what happened, (or didn't happen) to Nate Diaz for example.

I say we get rid of the police for the exact same reason as TS points out. Why is theft even a crime?

Those are both EDITORIAL pieces, for the most part arguing that USADA catches too many people with trace elements of SARMS, peptides etc. They actually contradict your statement in a way.

Can you somehow substantiate your claim that USADA's testing is outdated / ineffective, and that cheaters are slipping by the testing protocols with designer drugs?

Its almost like those dorks are arm wrestling and not hitting each other in the head.

Even during a pandemic lockdown this should be considered a shitty thread.

Well, let's totally ignore the effects of unregulated use of PEDs on the body then... :confused:

USADA is not perfect, but testing is the way to go.

This. Fuck off with this nonsense, TS. I don't want to see professional fighters dying at the rate professional wrestlers do, and PED's is a huge driving factor in that.

One day MMA will catch up with arm wrestling. In the been time these guys will just have to study for their drug tests.

Why do you think Nate said "Everyone's on steroids"?

Why do you think it's a RAMPANT problem?

The testing is BEHIND the doping in a way that creates a NON-deterrence.

I don't know how to fix the problem, (hence my "Get rid of USADA" contention) but as if you read the article you'll see they mentioned a conflict of interest...

I'm not trying to be a dick, but you have to either substantiate your claim that USADA's testing is outdated / ineffective, and that cheaters are slipping by the testing protocols with designer drugs...

Or admit that you are making statements that simply are not grounded in fact or reality.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The reality is that USADA testing is so advanced and cutting edge, that they are catching athletes with trace amounts of banned substances even in the context of unintended use. Weirdly, that was the gist of the articles you quoted...
And the whole "chemists are continuously developing new designer compounds that can't be detected" theory is about 20 years old. Can you name a single one of these undetectable "designer" steroids developed in the last 15 years?
All I know is that it's EASY to cheat.
All I know is that it's a BROKEN system that $$$ fighters can better take advantage of.
My point is to FIX it, enough to be a DETERRENT in regards to cheating.
Georges St-Pierre drew a line in the sand when he left the sport back in 2013, saying he wouldn’t return to fight unless the UFC did something about the rampant steroid use in MMA. That stance played a decent role in the promotion adding USADA testing for all fighters in 2015, and while the new program is good enough to get GSP back, it’s not as definitive as maybe you might think.
“Even now, it’s still easy to [cheat],” St-Pierre told Joe Rogan in a recent episode of his podcast (via MMA Fighting). “Let’s say I want to have an injection of a product that will last in my body for two days or one day. So I know that particular day I cannot be tested, because if I am, I’m screwed.”
Considering the problems Mr. Diaz seems to have accepting his losses, perhaps stating that, “Everyone’s on steroids!” might have something to do with justifying him getting manhandled by stronger fighters.
Or he sees it because he's in the industry.
Just make murder legal. Lots of people get away with it anyway, so let's just make it legal
Right, TS?
Many PEDs are illegal. No one should feel compelled to become a criminal and endanger their health.
You don’t know it’s easy to cheat. Not sure why you keep repeating it.
