The problem with Maia vs Lawler is...

Maia's new tds are unusual and few can replicate them.

Its a double leg shot which almost always gets sprawled on BUT once in that position if he join hands around just one leg it almost always results in him getting his opponent down. Its going to be hard to train for because that control of just one leg is rarely much use for even top level guys.
 
Maia's takedown game is so unique and specialized that it's hard to tell if anyone at WW will have success at stopping it.

Robbie may be able to out muscle Maia for a round or two in the clinch, but eventually Maia wears guys down with his constant pressure.
 
Maia has shown great improvement in his hands as well .. this guy has been on a mission and I wouldn't hate one bit if he won the Belt !!
 
I think Maia can get it to the ground in round 1 or 2, when he is fresh. If he can't get the sub in those rounds, I agree with you. Maia's TDs get worse as the fight progresses.
