The PPV buys for 2018

Ufc 229 wasn’t stacked at all
It just had mcgregor on it

McGregor, Rousey, Lesnar, GSP and Anderson Silva to a lesser extent can usually draw on their own.
203 for example did 475k and had a bit of everything to appeal to every type of fan. Stipe vs Overeem for a title; former champ Werdum vs Mr Rousey; CM Punk's first fight and Urijah Faber.

226 did 380k, they tried, but really, that was only going to draw hardcore fans. Stipe vs Cormier superfight. Derrick Lewis vs Francis Ngannou; Mike Perry vs Paul Felder; Acosta vs Hall; Pettis vs Chiesa. Plus Halloway vs Ortega was called off late, so anybody whoorders at the last minute for that sort of thing backed off. Undercard can make a big difference but the mainevent still matters.

The UFC did well in PPVs in 2018, despite what is likely all time high number of illegal streaming. People can rightfully argue that Conor generated nearly half of the buys. But there's tons of companies out there who rely on a flagship product for the bulk of their revenue. It's still working for now.

It's said that the main event is overwhelmingly the single most influential aspect. I myself consider the entire card.

lol, what's the sales threshold a champ has to meet to get PPV points again?

I bet Nunes ended up owing the UFC money after 224.

@Myrddin Wild - these are from Dave. I know you like to keep records.
80-20 rule in full effect, the gingers are killing it

North America? I thought UFC included markets like Australia and Europe

Very interesting, thanks for posting again Frankie. Some numbers there that I would have thought would have done better to be honest, including DC and Stipe

You are more than welcome
DC/Stipe certainly under-performed. No way to spin that

Conor is the most under paid in combat sports. He literally equals all other ppvs together
