So it feels like during the pandemic, prospects has been losing left and right, and the stars or favourites has been losing one after another.
I mean, gassed or not, four time BJJ world champ Vieira getting tapped out by a purple belt, who got tapped out two fights ago and lost two in a row, probably is a good indicator of what it has been like after Covid started.
The list is indeed very long, but if you try to think of a prospect that you thought will go long way, the chances are good that he or she probably lost already if he or she fought during the pandemic.
Mackenzie Dern still has some good hype behind her, that doesn't really bode well for her because everyone with some hype behind them has been losing left and right.
I'm curious to see how her next fight will go because I'm not sure if Dern can take Nina down who made Tatiana Suarez look mortal when Tatiana ragdolled Esparza who is a really good MMA wrestler in her own right, though MMA math doesn't always work, but just puts Nina TDD in perspective.
Nina do have third degree black belt in TKD to go with her pretty impressive TDD as well.(Apparently third best TDD in UFC as a whole or something?)
I'm going to be honest, I'm still on Mackenzie Dern hype train, and still happy to be on the bandwaggon.
She's really hot in my opinion, IDGAF what they say, of course not that looks matter or anything, it's hilarious that she's turning Brazilian, she comes to fight, and she has really really good BJJ. But that doesn't work if you get picked apart from outside and can't take someone down.
Nina is older and coming off a pregnancy, but it's WMMA, 35 isn't too old most of the time, especially if you are good enough to keep it standing against the grappler, and Nina probably is good enough to.
It really does feel like everyone with any resemblence of hype behind them has been losing after Covid started.
I really want Dern to not be the next, but better fighters against better match ups has been dropping like flies.
So, the question to you is, will Dern be the next to be sacrificed at the sacred altar of the year of the upsets of pandemic?
