Was Conor's cardio and chin (against a bigger guy). Just rewatched the fight. He was lighting Nate up the entire fight. He started fading / gassing, and was wobbled by a one-two from Nate, and was pretty much out on his feet trying to recover.

I think Conor needs to simply start fighting with his hands up and to work on his conditioning. He can't be gassing in 2 rounds if he wants to compete with the best obviously.

He wasn't exposed at all like Ronda was. Ronda was exposed for being a one trick pony. Conor only got submitted because he was already in big trouble and gave up his back so I don't understand why people are bashing his grappling or ground game

Nate had 11 days to prepare lmao.

So what you're saying is Conor got beat at his one trick too?

Ronda > Conor?

Give me a break TS... he fought an out-of-fight-shape fighter... not even the best version of Nate Diaz, who is far from being the best 155lbs guy :)

He never wobbled Diaz, never!

they're the same size and he had a full training camp.

This is what happens when you fight guys your own size and can dish it but cannot take it.

Conor looked sloppy and gassed. Of course still the best Guy but not even mad since Miesha took the belt earlier and it was Díaz that took the big win. Now IF he only kept momentum alive ..

I don't like Ronda, but after tonight I think she has a pretty good chance in the rematch. Pretty sure the second time she wouldn't just walk forward eating shot after shot trying to KO Holly with a haymaker.

He did land good shots. But is it wise to keep throwing power shots like that over and over? Poor fight iq

why is everyone saying "against the bigger guy"

THEY WEIGHED THE EXACT SAME FIGHT NIGHT AND CONOR HAD A FULL TRAINING CAMP LOL

I just rewatched the fight.....and McGregor still lost.

Nothing worse on Sherdog than the "I just rewatched the fight, and now I have some incredible new insight into what really happened." threads.

So is it fair to say at this point that Conor was only winning at FW because of his reach advantage? If he didn't have it his KO of Aldo would never of landed

I kind of agree. I think Conor looked scary and unpredictable. Against a lesser opponent, they may have fallen. But he showed us that he can only keep this pace for 2 rounds at best. Diaz is tough as nails, but even he started slowing down and getting lit in the second, wasn't until he rocked Conor that he was able to recover. Still, Conor likes to get hit as we've seen vs Mendes, he relies on his opponents being too timid to engage and Nate isn't afraid to scrap.

punching angle wore him out and also when punch upward they generate less power. when conor was able to square off on the level or against shorter guys he generated far more sleepification in his punches. I've said it before. Conor has no business fighting at 170.

I honestly think Conor's chin is just fine. The real exposure to echo you first point was that Conor has now answered the heretofore open question: what is his gas tank like? At some point in the second round he looked like he could barely breath. That is not good.

All that said, I boldly predict that Conor beats RDA both vertically and horizontally. But that is a ways off. Now can we ficking do the Edgar fight which should have happened in the first place.

Ill admit that Conor's power looked serious but Nate ate it. Also worth noting, Nate was on zero camp amd isn't quite championship level.... at 155

even poorer heart. Nate walked through fire, conor folded the first hard shots he took.

So basically what you're saying is Nate has always been the better fighter, and RDA would've massacred Instatap Mac?

The submission actually spared McGregor from the incoming KO.

And that is the saddest part of this event.

no excuses for connor his trainer said it would be the best connor ever.

Conor looked sloppy. Some of those Holly Holm/Jon Jones oblique kicks looked awful.

He was exposed for his lack of jiu-jitsu and grappling awareness if anything.
