The only reason why jones is not fighting

Yeah when you're only 1 sample per quarter ahead of Conor McGregor, you're borderline out of the testing pool. Some kind of 'agreement' has been made I think.
 
I don't think the UFC has much of a problem paying Jones a good amount that both sides agree upon for the right match up. They were willing to risk Stipe vs Jones but they weren't going to back the brinks truck up for Stipe.

I think the problem is Stipe isn't the right match up as far the UFC is concerned. Stipe does almost zero to promote himself or the fight and has aways done this. The UFC knows the real money fight is Francis vs Jones and they also know that fight is a high priority for Francis. So that gives them a little bit of leverage in a situation that the UFC has very little power in. To risk that on Stipe vs Jones fight I think they weren't jumping at it to hard.

sadly disagree,stipe is perfect,the casuals dont care for stipes current state,as far as the promo concered and its all that matters for the casuals- its best HW to ever do it vs the goat

You answered the reason why they didn't push harder for this fight.

Casuals don't care about Stipe and never really have, that is the whole problem Stipe and the UFC has had. There isn't any reason to bend over backwards or pay a ton of money out to make this fight happen.

Hardcore fans pay the daily bills. Casuals are the cherry on top that makes everyone the extra money. It's why Conor and the UFC make bank every time he fights. It's why the UFC puts up with Diaz boys shit an this list can go on and on.

You got it backwards.....the casuals are the ones who pay the bills. That's why Conor sells WAY better than today's top fighters. In order to get big sales the casuals have to fork out money.

But I agree

Why out of all people would Jon Jones only be tested once every 3 months for over a year

You think they would be hammering him as he bulks up but that's not the case at all

He must be on some sort of "vacation" from the sport

I think it's a combination of Ngannou wanting more money and Jones wanting more money and Stipe wanting more money now that they want more money.
