The only reason GSP is fighting Nate Diaz at 155 is to later face Conor McGregor

Colitis is a chronic, usually lifetime condition. He got treatment and improved inside 6 months. That's enough to hold the MW belt and defend it isn't it?

You prefer to believe a blatant lie to see reality for what it is. He called in sick and is gaming the sport for easy fights and cash.

I saw his instagram and GSP looks skinny, So Im guessing the Colitis did him in so its possible that is why he is moving down to 155, he isnt cutting anyway but lost significant muscle mass he is more lean muscular now not swole. If I were to guess his weight right now Id say 175, he went all the way up to 190s for Bisping and he was swole and almost muscle bound he was too tight and gassed.

I think it's to prepare the fight against the champ, the irish dolly isn't fighting anyway
GSP vs Khabib would be a great fight
Why would a nate diaz prepare gsp for an explosive wrestler like khabib? Nate cant offer gsp anything in that department, he is a slow plodding brawler with good bjj off his back

Diaz will only fight for big pay day. Gsp will onlt fight for big pay day.

That is why they are fighting.

I meant prepare as in fighting at a weight close to 150, not stylistically, indeed they have very different styles

got ya, I was wondering like man this dude is tripping lol

But yeah trying to see if he can make the weight and Nate is a good choice big name and easy to take down.

GSP vacated the 185 belt 34 days after he beat Bisping. He didn't screw up the division unlike some other fighter I know who has never defended a belt. GSP fought all comers at 170 when he held the belt. GSP clearly isn't a true 185 fighter in terms of height, reach and weight. He is a 170 fighter who believes he can get to 155. I guess we will find out. There are many 155 fighters who weigh more than GSP's walk around weight of 185.
People always defend GSP sayin he vacated the belt when the whole reason we waited an extra 9 months for the Bisping fight was it was in his contract to defend the belt if he won. Bisping was contracted to fight Romero early 2017 but Bisping pulled out to get a knee surgery because it timed up well with GSP. We had to wait over a year because GSP keeps saying bs about a comeback. But he is just cherry picking easy fights. He screwed over many MW fighters and Mousasi left because of it.

Blame Rockhold and the UFC for the temporary problems at 185. If Rockhold beats Bisping then everything is different. The problem is Bisping KO's Rockhold in R1. UFC in the era of circus fights decides it likes an English belt holder and they like money fights. Bisping's first defense is against Hendo. A legend, but ranked 13 or 14 at the time. But its a rematch money fight. Bisping squeaks out a win and the UFC goes money fight again. Can you blame Bisping at 38 for wanting a money fight given the end being near? I think Bisping and the UFC thought he could beat GSP who is a natural WW and had not fought in 4 years. Then after GSP, Bisping would go against a top contender. Injuries got in the way. Bisping, Whitaker, GSP, etc. had issues. GSP did cherry pick Bisping, but can you blame him? It's a money fight and a chance for 2 UFC division championship legend. Did you blame Alvarez for the UFC letting Conor jump the line at 155 after splitting with gatekeeper Nate Diaz? It's the circus era and money fights rule. GSP is a bigger draw than Mousasi. That is a fact. The UFC could have kept Mousasi around, but they didn't pay him enough. So not GSP's fault at all. The UFC is the match-maker and the contract signer, not GSP. GSP is a fighter who fought all comers at 170 for a long time vs. Connor McNoDefend. 34 days to walk away from the belt. Big difference vs. Conor.

A little behind on latest news..this fight hasnt been confirmed has it? Hard to tell with all the threads here..
There are only a few people gsp should fight now, and i dont think nate diaz is one of them. I think hes got 1 more fight in him, and its hard to guess who he would want to finish his career against. If i was him, i would say khabib at a catchweight. I think for him getting the belt is less important than the challenge of being the 1st guy to defeat khabib, plus the martial arts challenge of overcoming his pure domination in the octagon. I dont think any of the other potential matchups are of as much interest to him (including conor)

Bigger money fight is to build the hype. Beat khabib after diaz, then fight Conor. Now you have champion vs fake champion on the marketing.

why would he have to go through Nate first? He could fight anyone he wanted.

because nate has a name, generates PPV and isnt a hard fight at the same time.
the possibility to face mcgregor next after that fight, makes it even more attractive.

He probably wants to fight all 3 of khabib, Conor and Nate.

All good matchups for him.

and then Retire for good.

That Conor vs GSP fight will probably be the highest ppv of all time for the UFC.

GSP is not going to fight Khabib or Tony, or Kevin Lee, he is not he already paid his dues he is about the money fight.

Freddie Roach and Firas even said that's the fight that makes the most sense for GSP at this stage in his career.

I think Conor vs GSP will do around 2.8 million ppv buys, depending on if GSP wins impressively against NAte.
No. It's a pathway to fighting Khabib.
