The Official "Show your Stuff" Thread:

None of these are mine, but I can't make up my mind on what to get next.

He also has a Winchester safe which I've never looked inside.

Now that is impressive!!! Looks like he owns an armory or at least a sporting goods store.

I was recently at a gun show, all in all very unimpressed with the weapons presented. Especially the prices. Some good things came out of the trip though, I got a first hand look at these wasr ak47 variants. Pieces of junk! They might as well be toys. Anyone dumb enough to pay $500 for those rifles, deserves everything they get. If you're ordering them from online auctions, you're going to be very surprised when you see the product delivered to the FFL if you're not familar with them.

Fortunately (unfortunately) I learned my lesson about buying things online without having first hand knowledge of exactly what you're acquring a long time ago. Anything can and will show up. But I have a feeling quite a few people are going to be stuck with these pieces of junk on the market. I would give them $150 realistically, for $500? No way.

There were easily thousands of 30-30 rifles there on display. Some at very fair prices. They are outstanding rifles in my estimation, but some of the safety devices on them are a little absurd. When its ready to rock though, hard to beat the rifle. The prices of the ammo though, why I was there looking at 7.62 rifles. Might be time to look into reloading.

I got a good look at a few AR15 rifles and variants. Some of them I wouldnt have owned, others would have went home with me if I had brought $1500 lol. A lot of crap hand guns on the market too, apparently plastic is the thing these days. I kept eyeing the 1911 type hand guns. Some of them very nice.

Some really amazing collections here. Will try to post a pic of mine shortly.

Some of the nihonto I own. I am a serious collector and have been training kenjutsu for almost 20 years. Getting detailed sword pics is hard I take mine to a friend who is a pro and has a good technique for seeing the hamon and nie in pictures.

Beautiful.

Beautiful.

Thanks. I've got one in the mail on its way from Japan now. It was made in 1983 by a Living National Treasure smith and it is not an art sword but a purely cutting sword.

Its crazy though that something can be 700 years old and still be perfect and drop jaws.

Not as good as a gun but in my old creaky house at night with dark twisting passages if you are breaking in with ill will you will leave missing body parts.

My Colt 1911. Colt is dated 1980, and is a custom job by Clark in Louisiana.

And my chromed Luger, 1940 model (Its tighter than the Colt, even though it's 40 years older)

Both guns are 100 year old designs.

Round of applause for SuperNova, thank you for sharing some pictures of your blades with us. I have had my eye on a legitimate blade for sometime now, but nothing like you're posting above. Some of those dates are hard to wrap my head around. Amazing.

Bravo.

Arigato gozaimashita. I promised pics of my newest sword-- well it came in the mail today.

I promised pics of my sword to a few other plats when it came back from Japan and I got it back today. :D

It was made in 1983 by Akitsugu Amada, a Japanese Living National Treasure swordsmith and is made of a tungsten/steel alloy that is measurably better than normal sword steel for actual use. The artistic qualities of the blade suffer a little but there are 'nie' and a fantastic temper line ('hamon') and the sword has been designated an Culturally Important Object by the Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Sword. Fucking perfect.
