These are the rare opportunities to inform the average Joe and give him a better representation of Antiquity. Instead it's the same tired tropes - leather armour, wrist bands, bland colors, clownish helmets.

They could had at least went with later Ancient Greek style armour that could had been stamped out easy. Heck, even if they just painted the crappy armour they used bronze it would be more plausible and look better...

Real world versions would probably look clunky and cheap. They're clearly going for a dramatic space Odyssey type flare. Everything be somber themed and mysterious.

Nolan said they shot over 2million feet of film which is an, extraordinariky high amount of celluloid.

Generally l I'm a big fan of Nolan going back to Memento etc

The costumes they did use look clunky and cheap. The only mystery is why in the fuck they made the call to make armor flat black and plastic looking.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the weapons look like so I can give a full critique of that as well.

Anything Nolan makes is always worth checking out at least, but the trailer is not a good first impression. I don't think he's a good fit for this, as he likes to ground things. The source material does not call for that.

Matt Damon can be good in supporting roles these days, but as a leading man in an epic film?? I don't know what it is exactly about him that I find so annoying, but there's no way I'm paying a cent to watch him for hours.

Zendaya is another terrible choice. She's a charisma vacuum. I do not get her appeal, outside name recognition.

I'd always rather a period piece be historically accurate, in casting, set pieces, and attire, but if the writing, acting, and cinematography is excellent, I can still enjoy it. Race swapping always sticks out like a sore thumb though, and there's plenty of that here.
