With just 191 days until the Nov. 4 midterm elections, nervous Democrats are scrambling to find an effective answer to the Obamacare question they may fear the most: "Where is the $2,500 in health insurance savings President Obama and Democrats promised me?"

This is the most important question. This is the one of the largest reasons to get Americans to sign up because the big bad insurance companies are just out for profit and by holding them accountable it will make premiums more affordable because you will no longer be taken advantage of by the big bad insurance companies......

didn't every republican say this would increase cost significantly??? and by increasing cost to every American on something that's 1/5th the U.S. economy during a recession would be a bad thing??? maybe they should rethink their approach instead of run with this decision???

I dont see the dems doing very well on this..... and to think about it, this was their main push during their campaigns, now it will be their downfall.....

I'm saving about $300/mo just because the exchange gave me the tools to choose my family's plan in a way that fit my needs. I keep a silver for myself and my daughter, and a gold for my pregnant wife. Before, I just had top level stuff for my whole family, and it was much more expensive.

My healthcare was going up astronomically every year before Obamacare, now it is going up slower and more people are covered. Would not have been my solution to the problem, but no one else was really offering any real proposals to compete with it.

Yea most of the extra taxes went to effect early on (gotta get 10 years worth of taxes to pay for 6 years worth of program) and the no denying children for preexisting conditions.

Well we do know 6 million people have lost their coverage after being sold on obamacare that you would get to keep your coverage and doctors.

I think its fair to say they picked up another health care plan. But to the point, thats not what the op asked. Hard to gauge the damage or the savings I would think this soon after the program actually gets fully implemented. If it was an easy way to discredit the dems then im sure repubs would have something with numbers already if it was possible.

it doesn't matter if they picked up a new plan. Part of the selling of Obamacare was that IF YOU LIKE YOUR INSURANCE, YOU CAN KEEP IT, IF YOU LIKE YOUR DOCTORS YOU CAN KEEP THEM.

If you were to have a promise of, millions of you are gonna lose you current coverage that you are happy with, millions of you are gonna not be able to see the doctors that you have been seeing, most of you will not save money even though I have said that it will save everyone $2500 a year.

Kind of hard to sell Obamacare if those were the promises made.

Also don't forget that business were basically going to kill him/democrats in the next mid-term election cycle. Obama got so scared that he pushed back the mandatory tax/fine on companies until after the mid-term elections.

Funny how he kept the taxes on the individual American people, but let the Business taxes slide until after mid-term elections

It was dumb of dems to say outright that they could keep their plans, changing the standards would obv have some repercussions with the insurance plans. However it does make sense to have certain standards set forth in all insurance plans. That said you are still dodging the question thats been asked and pointing at other things.

Republicans are pushing the issue to play the bullshit game with the elections coming up. In a year or so im sure the numbers will come bad or good, but safer to press now since it cant be provided yet.
