Ya i cannot recall if i watched it live or on the News looping it immediately after but it was wild.

Was there any movies that really portrayed this type of situation happening prior to the event? I know many movies did after but was this even imagined prior???
 
Dudes were armed to the teeth and armored and doped up.

Even shotgun rounds were hitting them to little effect. The shooting was the biggest reason my agency in SoCal added ARs to all the patrol units.

It also goes to show how just a handful of well armed, armored and determined suspects can bog down an entire PD.
 
Pretty crazy. I remember that the last of the two shooters still alive had such good improvised body armor that they shoot his legs out from under a vehicle to finally put him down.

yep, it was wild, AK's were the most feared gun of all time for a long time
 
They might have won had they packed a 40mm grenade launcher and or combat shotgun as their way to clear a path...
 
If I recall correctly, the cops shot and handcuffed one of the guys and just let him lay there and bleed to death on the street. I remember the look in his eye when he looked at the camera as he lay there. He seemed to recognize his situation and that help wasn't coming.

That was the first time the people saw that kind of shootout with those types of guns. It was like a movie in real life, and nobody liked it…

That definitely wasnt the first time a shootout like that happen.

People in here think that was the first time anyone every shot an assault rifle at a cop.
Wasnt the first by any means.

First perp took a bullet to the dome from an officer behind the bush and dropped like a sack of potatoes. They had to get close for the headshot because of the armor those lads were wearing.

2nd guy made a half break in a car but didn't get too far. Got pinned down at the front of the car and ultimately surrounded and blasted to Bolivia.
