It's not who he beat. It's how he trained and fought in those last fights before retirement.
If he have had the same approach to the 3 fights that he lost, I'm quite sure that he would had beaten Hendo and Verdum pretty handily. TRT Bigfoot might still have been to much for him though.

The fact of the matter is you fight to your opponents abilities.
In other words, Fedor looked so good because of who he was facing. Impressive none the less but he was fighting not even top 15 guy's and he's the supposed HW GOAT.
That's what happens when you fight below your level. Anderson vs James Irvin and Stephen Bonnar should have taught you that.
