The mystery of UFC letting Megan Anderson go

Crazy release. She had the agility of a newly born baby deer who was bitten by a zombie. Too 2 in ufc 145 division.

I’ll never understand how she could have such a bad guard with those crazy limbs

This is something I never understand.

Not back then, not now. I don't understand why they let her go. It sounds like they are kinda interested in Kayla who has went past the stage of being fed cans at this point, I don't even know what you call it, fighting human corpses might be tougher than what Kayla is fighting over there.

The WMMA 145lber division is literally as thin as a prison toilet paper. Like there's no one really there. You can call Megan Anderson this and that, but at the end of the day, she had this unique power for WMMA fighter and she got besmirched, but she was still coming off a title shot and she probably shit the bed mentally even before getting in the cage. She has a win over Dumont who might not be that far from a title shot since the division is so thin.

If they were going to keep 145 division for WMMA, it makes no sense to cut Megan Anderson. I'm guessing they might have had a change of heart somewhere along the way after cutting her.

What says you Sherbros, why was Megan Anderson cut?

I still think with a change in camp and a few more bouts she could come back and be a force in the UFC

they had been putting her in other 'company face' roles (commentary spots in Invicta and so on) I think because they felt her image was popular and they wanted to cash in on that if not her fighting; and they're not getting rid of 145 yet despite a dire shortage of bodies at that weight, so it is a bit strange.

I do get a vibe that she's a rather annoying person though so I sense there might have been some backstage issues that made them not feel like she was worth the bother (especially after the embarrassing performance vs Nunes). There was that whole deal with 'personal issues' where she went absent for like a year, for instance. Or how her onetime BFF Sanko (who is now a company woman) doesn't have anything to do with her anymore.

It was funny that a bunch of guys who should know better (eg, leading MMA expert Drake Riggs) hyped her into the UFC as 'maybe the one to beat Cyborg'; there were a bunch of mods here with avs of her, etc. Basically it was just an Amazon fetish as far as I can tell coz she certainly didn't show any of that in the ring. The UFC tried to make her 'earn' the shot by fighting Holm (and later Spencer), but she couldn't beat anyone good so they had to toss her a few cans then it seems they just got fed up of her and fed her directly to Nunes for her last fight to be done with the whole thing.

She is not very good and she was probably in the UFC because of the stupid tattoos.

Think it was all about $$$$. She didn't get "cut" as in removed while having fights left on her contract. They couldn't agree to a new contract so the UFC didn't offer one. I assume she wanted superstar $$ but her performances don't even really make her a contender.
Funny how Sherdog makes everything about money.

Its not some sinister fat cut, deny the little man money, nefarious plot.

She was crap at fighting, so they didnt resign her. Its that simple.

If her last fight she got $155K for a loss. Come on, agreeing to a contract is impossible for the UFC since she would have wanted the same and they probably wanted 20K a fight max.

They had every reason to resign her to build that division as a relatively popular UFC fighter. she had a 3-3 UFC record but had fights against some of the top female fights. Considering other women they keep on, she had a better case than a lot of them only she was a lot more expensive.

Did you see her fight with Nunes?

She was scared and pathetic from the opening seconds until she was KOed.

Even when they showed her walking into the building her facial expressions were saying "I REALLY don't want to be here. Can we leave, please?"

Every fighter's purpose in the UFC, regardless of weight class and gender, should be to get the damn belt. Megan Anderson made it clear when she had the opportunity to get the belt she didn't want it.

So, she was cut. She can fight in another org and not want the belt there.

I had no idea she was cut. Dana not into amazonians.

If she wasnt an aussie you wouldnt give a toss.

She was crap, she didnt get resigned. Who cares.

I don't care she wasn't resigned. Just saying she was too expensive for what she offered which is why she wasn't resigned.

She just wasn't any good. I think that's the reason. He weight is the only thing she has going for her but she can't get near the belt... Makes sense to me.
