The mystery of UFC letting Megan Anderson go

Sounds like she's lost her enthusiasm for MMA.

“For all those that are asking and continue to ask me daily, I have no plans to fight right now,” Anderson wrote on Instagram. “I'm not saying that I will never fight again, but at this point in my life, I'm loving everything else I'm doing. From gaming and streaming, working as an analyst for ESPN and Invicta, and currently filming my first major feature film. I couldn't be happier and fighting really isn't on my mind.

“I'm currently not affiliated with any gym, I'm not signed to any promotion right now and haven't been pursuing a new fight contract. I appreciate the love and interest from everyone hoping to see me in the cage again, but hopefully this answers your questions for now!”

Does anyone know of she was cut or fought out her contract? Can't find any info on this.

Fun fact she’s actually banned from returning to Australia because of how badly she performed against Nunes.

I consider that a cut.

She didn't renew her contract leading into a title fightt and then got besmirched. I mean obviously it could be semantics and you can always say that it wasn't renewed but when it goes down that way, I think it's a cut.

On the flip side, someone like Arlovski or Werdum I don't consider that a cutt.
Maybe she didn't want to renew her contract. Maybe wanted to go back to the lower leagues, where she can have her options open, have sponsors, and possibly be top of the mountain there.

She's the only legitimate featherweight they had and clearly wasn't good enough to build a division around. Featherweight only exists so Nunes can walk around with an extra belt until she retires.
