I noticed a couple things while watching this 80s action classic.

In the scene where he goes to his apartment…

1. He cuts one slice of pizza in half with scissors!
Why cut an already pre-cut single slice of pizza?

2. He keeps his gun cleaning kit in the freezer in an egg crate container! Who keeps their eggs in the freezer?

3. He eats the pizza with his gloves on!

One of my favorite Stallone movies. Seen it about 30 times.

Good questions.

1. The scissors scene is something that really made me curious. So years ago I researched it to understand it better. Most people analyzing the movie thought it was just there to make him look tough. But not quite, Stallone wrote that scene in there because where he grew up, that is how they would cut Pizza in New York. Especially if you had no money growing up and would save left overs. It's much easier to cut frozen Pizza with scissors than with a knife if you want to share a last slice or just cut it. Most families didn't have a Pizza slicer. It's just how they did things. Martin Scorceses mother also use to do this and she talked about it on TV.

2. The egg carton. This is also from Stallones past. He actually kept his gun cleaning kit and other tools in an egg carton. So that was written in the movie.

3. In the 80s those thin leather gloves were the symbol of being a tough guy. So you saw everyone wearing them from Michael Jackson, the bullies in Weird Science (just watched it) and more. Tough guys never took em off.

4. The Cult was a group of people that went by the Darwinist ideology that modern society was flawed and you needed to get rid of the weak. So they recruited anyone that wanted to be part of the new world where only the strong survive. They would actively recruit more people to build an army.
