The Moment When The Ref Saved Usman From Maia

Yup. Too many people forgot about this. Plus Maia rocked Usman in their fight.

Colby may have gotten cut open by Maia but by the end of the third round, give Colby another 30 seconds and he 100% finishes Maia.

Usman had 5 rounds with Maia and didn't come close to anything like that.
And he fought Maia after Colby had beat the fuck out of him.

And then Usman fucked up Colby so bad he ran outta the ring.

That gloved hand of Usmans kept it trapped in that whizzer he had. Maia shouldve have worked to undo it a little more with his free hand and secured the back indefinitely.

Those uppercuts to the butt kinda killed his momentum in that sequence. I woulda liked to seen where that woulda ended up but it was closing in on 90sec left so not a whole lotta time, even if in a good position against solid grapplers.

The only thing the ref saved was Maia looking like a goof not knowing what to do next

Unlikely to win, but you never know, at times Damian seemed almost too methodical

Not saying the ref saved Usman from being submitted, but that was absolutely a shitty break.

Maia was working and waiting for an opportunity that's exactly what he should do. Terrible break.

Bad call but there was a minute and a half left and there was stalemate . Highly doubthe would've been subbed but yeahs bitty call by the ref cause it was possible .

Nah. Everyone that isn’t completely biased (you), know Marty is no better than the third best ww of all time. Stop trolling…

Usman is my favorite fighter right now to be honest.

But currently, he is the best fighter in the UFC.

Who has done more than him who is currently active?

That was not 'very dominant' at all, it was advantageous for Maia sure, but they stayed in that same position for like 2 minutes and nothing was happening. What makes you think anything was gonna change in the last minute? It was a bad break but nowhere even close to being one of the worst breaks.

I'm a huge Maia fan. It was a bit premature, but it didn't look like Maia had a plan for escaping that whizzer that Usman had. Usman's arm was pretty well lodged in there. I don't see any reason why Usman wouldn't have rode out the round in that position.
I dont think Maia was going to get it and he was constantly grabbing the cage to maintain.

I saw that fight live so I had a bad view from the rafters

Possibly the worst separation I can think of. Maia had his back in the 1st round in a very dominant position when both were dry, and Maia is known to finish people from that exact position, while Usman has been submitted from that exact position by a guy nowhere near Maia's level.

What other separations/standups do you believe had a major impact on the outcome of a fight?

He started punching Kumaru in the ass, nobody wants to see that , not even the ref.

plus he grabbed the fence 3 times….nothing to see here
