He let Rockhold control the distance.
He should have been stalking him from the get go.
He did this really well.

Yes Weidman has the reach advatage but Rockhold is taller and lanky.
He was able to hit him with those hell kicks and the check hook.

He should have stuck to him like glue.
He should have been feinting in like he did against machida.

He did it well in the first.

He tried to Kick box.
He should have stuck to boxing.
He should have only feinted kicks.
Yes he did hurt rockhold with kicks but should have not kicked to open rockholds opportunities (Rockhold is one sneaky motherfucker.)
We all remember this.

Weidman should have used his elbows.
Rockhold was able to dip in and out at will with no consequence

He came in too small.
He walked around 192lbs for the camp.
Rockhold is a LHW.
You need size.

Overall I hope for a war and I am still 50/50 on this.

The biggest factor IMO was actually underestimating Luke's counter grappling. Weidman almost got caught in two takedowns, and his takedowns really didn't amount to much except positional advantage.
Luke had obviously been training to counter takedowns and Weidman needs to either be prepared for this and develop a better striking threat or utilize more creative takedowns

Rockhold is gonna win again. good BJJ, TDD and striking. Weidman shouldn't have taken this fight so quickly. Rockhold was putting him in bad spots numerous times within 3 rounds. The first fight is proof that Rockhold is capable of nullifying Weidman's wrestling which is all he has.

The fight was close until he spun and got mounted. At least from what I remember. That fight was without a doubt competitive, but I felt like Weidman was going to edge it out.
