Metal/Rock/Industrial The metal thread \m/

Impnaz, beherit, Archgoat, barathrum, that's that good shit. Something standing very apart from the Norwegians.

I feel like alot of the nowadays bands try to copy the Norwegians more.
Hmmm. Maybe. I think it was more “trve” back in the day. Eastern euro bands kind of took over for me in the last 15 years or so. At least in the world of BM. Everything started becoming more and more atmospheric.

I agree with SW in your other post. I used to not care so much about the content, but it makes me mad now, so I avoid those type of bands now.

BAEST new album soon

On August 15th, BAEST will release their new record "Colossal" via Century Media Records.....

"As a tribute to the heavy metal roots of our music, we wanted to incorporate fast, classic and rock riffs. This album shows our passion for melodies and a new direction for our death metal. "Colossal" retained the energy of previous releases and added new flavors to the inferno. The recording, which spanned two years at Antfarm Studio with Tue Madsen, was a different but exciting process that left a lot of time between the album's single releases, although The first two singles 'Colossus' and 'Imp Of The Perverse' are now almost a year old....

We felt it felt right to give the songs more time to grow, and we also had to reinvent our own style and sound in the process, which leads us to being happy with "Colossal." It's a sonically diverse album and we feel that this is the essence of BAEST.
....
Next up we're going on our first ever US/North American tour supporting Arch Enemy, and following that tour we'll be playing a bunch of European festivals. This will be the perfect platform to show the new material and get feedback from fans - see you on tour!"

They are absolute GREAT live, dont miss! Short Vid by me (2019, germany):

I was pretty shocked to hear that first single sounded nothing like them it was like the were a hair metal band all of a sudden. Very traditional metal sounding and no death metal at all. Very weird decision to completely change your sound and also very risky.

Risky yes.... we will soon find out how the rest of the album sounds like. At the end its the live (sound) show that counts (for me) - bringing all songs together.. They should play at least 1 time every month here and everywhere else in the world :-)

wow WTF this is one of the biggest shifts in style I have ever seen and I don't like it they went from an awesome old school death metal band to some Judas Priest cover band musically at least. Not my Baest. :(

REST IN PEACE L.G. Petrov

LG Petrov did guest vocals on this song, while dying of cancer in the hospital. The lyrics have to do with dying, so there's def an emotional weight to this performance

The raining blood riff...besides maybe iron man or enter sandman, has to be the most recognizable riff in metal history.

But it provokes a better reaction above all others.

Iit's not something that you can sum up, it just became that way. They found a way to tap into the frequency to kill or go on a murderous rampage. Just commanding hundreds of people to go on the warpath.

It can't be replicated. It's the end of the world music. Even if some rinka dink local band covers it, the crowd is still gonna drop whatever it is they are doing and smash heads.

It's beautiful. We are all lucky to be alive in the era of Metal.
