Leviathan

PROTECTOR (!) was very great. That particular album was not well produced, but guitars are interesting sometimes. At the end they have a great atmosphere throughout their albums.

I love their 1988 Debut album:

pretty damn fast for that time(!)
Golem was a favourite track despite it is a slow track, very atmospheric.

URM the mad has also nearly the same guitar sound as LEVIATHAN.

One of their best songs - Kain and Abel:

Gonna check out the whole album today Blood Dynasty! This song is a ripper off to a good start. imho

That is a wild speculation. He stepped in on short notice and killed it why wouldn't they at least try him out for the next tour? That is likely what they will do and then feel things out from there but I doubt he's one and done.
Because touring doesnt make a lot of money and Ben probably makes more doing sessions and youtube without struggling to sleep on a shitty tour bus. Mastadon isnt exactly killing it in tour revenue. They're a decent sized band, but they're not big arena getting rich. Ben probably makes a shitload off of his online music academy or whatever. He's one of the bigger teaching channels on youtube.

Well if you read further I did say that I think it will come down to whether Ben wants to do it or not and that it would be a big commitment. So there...

I got to hear some of the new Forbidden album last night off Chris Kontos' phone it sounds fuckin' killer. No Russ Anderson but Norman Skinner is crushing the vocals on it. I'm pumped for the album release now.

Seeing Dethklok tomorrow night, should be a blast. Very interested to see how they present the live performances, deliberately haven't watched anything on YT so it's a surprise. Got some nice blunts and edibles ready to go!

Gene Hoglan is such an amazing drummer, always puts on a good show

Bleed From Within new album just dropped and holy shit they did a collab featuring Brann Dailor on vocals. I almost cant believe it. lmfao it's so sick!

Yeah, I've seen him with Testament and Fear Factory, he's a legend
That's awesome! Wish I could have seen him with Testament, I saw him forever ago with Strapping Young Lad and recently with the Death To All revival.

I saw him with Dark Angel last year. It was like he was doing a drum solo the whole entire show without breaking a sweat. Crazy to watch.
I saw a video of his a while back where he said he would practice and even play shows wearing wrist and ankle weights, so when he's not wearing them I'm sure drumming is so much easier lol.

Dethklok was a lot of fun, basically the band played in darkness and the characters were animated on the screen, very interesting.

Oh and can confirm Gene Hoglan is still a drum god, he just never misses, looks like drumming is so easy for him.

Support act Freedom of Fear were great too, brutal female vocals and trading sweep picked guitar solos, amazing stuff
