Metal/Rock/Industrial The metal thread \m/

@HHJ Rob Flynn is one hell of a song writer the man can write a chune. Thes are the four songs he did fir the roadrunner United All-Star sessions he was one of 4 team captains. I''l post a link for more info about it so you can see who was all involved. The other team Captains were Joey Jordison(Slipknot) Dino Cazares(Fear Factory) and Matt Heafy (Trivium) They all got to choose artists to work with from the Roadrunner roster and all wrote four original songs each with the captains being the main writers. it is super cool. Fuck I'll post the whole DVD too! You got me going now. lol

Making of DVD ( that I fucking own)

It'll be a bit before I can give this more attention but ill come back to it, thanks

Speaking of Dino, I really like Demanufacture. The atmosphere is amazing.

Best Machine Head album is the first one. So fucking HEAVY. I see the drummer Chris Kontos all the time. Super cool dude. I've met Rob Flynn a few times too, nice guy as well. From Forbidden, to Vio-Lence, to Machine Head. Solid pedigree, but ya some of the MH albums suck. Blackening was killer as well.

Exhibit A and Exhibit D have both been in my rolodex since the 90s, even up until today. Still probably listen to those songs at least once per month, 99 Ways to Die was one of my most listened to songs in 2024, according to YouTube, which left me thoroughly satisfied.

This song was before White Zombie officially broke up, but was really just Rob Zombie without the involvement of the rest of the band or the annoucement that Rob was going solo yet

It IS a good ass song tho

After the first solo RZ record im not really into them anymore.

WORSHIP WZ tho

I find it very interesting how similar the opening of the song is to Metallica, the period after Mustaine left the band. Pretty clear that he left a lasting impact that remained on that band, at least for while. I could be talking out of my ass, though, I was never wild into thrash and only have a degree of knowledge on it (big Slayer fan, though). Just an assumption based on what I'm hearing now and what I know of Metallica from the late 80s/early 90s.

I remember this soundtrack, and have heard it, but was mostly interested in Gravediggaz back in this album's heyday. I always loved 99 Ways, from around the same time (roughly), bc the video was on music channels a LOT, and remember it focusing on euthanasia, which was an alien topic to young Bobby. Very proactive subject matter for an impressionable youngster.

another sick song by Robb Flynn but this is for Drumception. The idea is that one person writes the drums and other artists all write an original piece over top of those pre programmed drums in this case it is Will Putney (Fit For an Autopsy/well respected producer) who did the drums. I will post them all. Every song is done over the exact same drum tracks. There is another one that Dirk verbeuran (soilwork/Megadeth) does the drums and all those songs from those artists turned out sick too. Some real heavy hitters involved in these.

all songs written to Will Putney's (Fit For an Autopsy) Drums

Robb Flynn - Machine Head

Jeff Loomis - Nevermore

Aaron Marshall - Intervals

Kevin Antreassian - Dillinger Escape Plan

I never really thought it sounded like Metallica tbh. Def has Mustaine's signature style of melodies on it.

99 ways, like Ashes in your mouth, seemed to be kind of "in between" the Rust in Peace (GOAT) era and the Countdown to Extinction style that would mark a clear shift to a more commerical sound, to try and beat The Black Album at its own game.

That really is one of MegaDaves best songs. imho
No doubt. Its catchy like their later stuff but retains a real heaviness.

This album here basically is not thrash at all but its still catchy AF w great melodies

the main problem with alot of Megadeth is Dave always gotta get too goofy at points hahaha

but to me Rust in Peace is perfection. Regular people shouldnt even be allowed to have that album.

don't think there is a single full Megadeth album that I like from front to back they just have good songs now and again. The early material is definitely the strongest. On the other hand there are plenty of Tallica albums I love from front to back. Dave lives in their shadow we all know this. lol

He never could quite achieve what they did. Part of that is spending all their recording money on drugs on the early albums hahahaha

His Vocals too, are an aquired taste lol

Again the dude did some goofy stuff, all their fuckin covers are fuckin terrible, to cover, and to listen to

Rust In Peace IS awesome the whole way though and can rival any metallica album though. But thats as close as they ever got.

He's a better songwriter than anyone in Metallica after Cliff died but... both of them by the mid 90s got really soft anyway
