Metal/Rock/Industrial The metal thread \m/

Yeah him and Dino are back to hating each other and during a court case Dino bought back all the FF trademarks including what was Burts and now has sole ownership, plus it got to a point where even Dino left Ibanez guitars due to the lawsuits that were going on

man i cant stand Dino.
He also pretty much ruined one of the great Aus bands at the time - Devolved.
Convinced them to move to California so hed help out etc, didnt end up doing it, left em to dry

I don't like Fear Factory, but I am disappointed the one song I like is not on Spotify (Archetype). Does this have anything to do with that or no? Probably a record label thing.

Must be a rights thing, its on Spotify here in the UK, i think the label that released it doesn't exist anymore and COW and Herrera probably have more rights on this album and the follow up compared to the previous ones they were on.

Who can license it to Spotify if the label is dead? Lol

Couldn't tell you, this was a statement from the band (aka Dino) a while back and thats about it as far as info

“Mechanize and The Industrialist (standard album versions) are officially on Spotify iTunes & Apple Music Worldwide via Nuclear Blast It took a lot of hard work and patience but we finally did it. Thanx to Scott Koenig Jhairo Echevarria and Monte Conner for making this happen. There is a lot more work to be done.

“Expanded versions of Mechanize & The Industrialist will be available later in the year.

“……………….PLEASE READ…………………

“FF do not own the rights to Archetype or Transgression.

“It has nothing to do with current or ex band members but everything to do with the record companies who were involved with them, it is out of our control.

“Although some countries may have them available on some streaming platforms, they are still currently unavailable in North America.
If something changes regarding this, you will be the first to know.

“Thank You For Your Patience and Understanding”

Did you watch that vid i posted? I think the new guy is killing it.

Not sure why it's not on there Dino wasn't in the band at the time so maybe that's why. Their bass player Christian moved to guitar for that album. Apparently the lyrics are about Dino. So it's pretty cool that Dino will still play it live. Here it is with the new vocalist Milo Sylvestro.

I think it's so damn cool that a young guy gets to join a band that he loves. Jason Newstead type of story but obviously a lot harder to replace a vocalist especially one with such a long legacy. I think they are in good hands with this guy.

Yeah I find it funny that Dino plays archetype and will end up owning it when the entire album is a "screw you" to him

But the entire fear factory story is one of toxic dudes and women who shouldn't be around each other

I still love Demanufacture (and Remanufacture grew on me as my musical tastes opened up), but FF ventured further into areas I wasn't a fan of, and ended up stopping listening to them. Did see them live once, with Godflesh as support. Godflesh sadly turned up too late to do anything but a short set, and the venue's PA couldn't handle the sheer amount of bass.
