Metal/Rock/Industrial The metal thread \m/

Nik Noc did it the crazy bastard. Here's his "best of 2022" riffage video. Breakdown one is coming next. Don't miss it cause there is some great riffs in here.

Always come back to this album when I'm feeling a bit out of sorts!

Old classic, brutal live performance especially the shouter, turn volume on 100%

Enslaved & Insomnium NA tour this spring

Never been able to get into Enslaved, but I'll go for Insomnium
They call it a co-headline tour, so I hope Insomnium gets a decent amount of set time

No foot tapping or head grooving...

Good luck Sherbro's..

I must be getting old, because I did not find any of that challenging at all. None of those parts sounded particularly interesting or inspiring to me.

I dunno, when I think of metal that gets me headbanging, it's stuff like Lamb of God or The Haunted

Maybe it's because I grew up with thrash metal. I need riffing and songwriting, and sweet guitar work, not just plodding

I didn't really lose either. A few head bob's and a foot tap through the whole thing. No Barberryans or The Abysmal Eye or Broken Cog in there is probably why.

I doubt you are that much older than me btw. I'm 42 and I recently came back into metalcore. I kind of stopped listening to metal back around 2011 and then I kind of rediscovered my love for it a couple of years ago when I discovered Djent. lol I know I'm one of those guys. *shrugs*

Now you're talking. hadn't heard this Meshuggah before, they always fascinate and get me doing the Jens face

Ha, yup also in my 40s. I never really left metal, always had some classic thrash in the car. It hasn't really been about rediscovery for me, but a growing sense of appreciation for how much metal endures.

I'm continually impressed that bands I got into 20-30 years ago have stuck to their guns and are still making killer music. The guys in Lamb of God are in their 50s but they haven't lost a step
