Going to watch The Empire Strikes Back tonight, as my personal tribute to Mr Prowse.

Bro, I honestly tried to read that.I could be wrong... but I was surprised by the come-back the prequels made in people's minds & the same could happen for the sequelz once they have aged.
Doggerz have mocked me for saying many times that I feel the "pretense" of what they wanted this to be... has killed the experience for the resistance... but after this thing ages, I think a lot of people will just accept it for what it is & appreciate it for what it is. Yeah, I know... there's no way the resistance believes that right now... yet here we are in a world where the prequels have more appreciation than they previously did after people let it sync in for a decade.
Sherdog is my first social media experience... & so I made it through, to 2016, before I even recognized that people didn't appreciate the prequels. (I know right~)
I was shocked at all the ways they nit pick the greatest story ever told. I mean ffs... just let it take you without picking it apart. I've heard all the gripes... & I was never bothered by any of them. Like maybe if you're some hyper-critical movie critic type that demands a perfect movie then you can get off & go that direction... but those people are missing the beauty of the whole thing. I'll point out too that the elusive "perfect movie" is a myth... & it's all these hypercritical social media jockies that ran Lucas out & made him not want to do it again that led to selling to Disney. So it you don't like the sequels, then look no further than the mirror for who to blame.
Just saying.
...and that's real.... straight out of Lucas' mouth that he wanted to make the sequel but just couldn't deal with the fan base.
That said, guess where they got the idea for a distraught Luke who isolated himself on an island. That's from Lucas himself. If you drop the hero complex that we all assigned to Luke back in the 80's & move on with your life, then there's no reason you shouldn't be able to see how the bratty self-defeating kid who rocked up for a few years to defeat the empire, ended up a mental wreck having never been properly trained. It was foretold by Yoda not wanting to train him. Accept that, & you see TLJ in a new light.
What if you just let all that stuff go & took the story in? That's what I did. I couldn't believe the amount of resistance I became aware of in 2016 from the prequels & now here we are again in the sequels with the same resistance while people are easing back on the prequels.
What i think it was with both trilogies... is that the big bad (Vader & Sid) were made to be human. For example: It's baffling to me how the original Godzilla is appreciated by so many people over more modern versions... but what I noticed is that it makes the big bad, "really big & bad"... & you get that feeling of superiority in your gut that this mother fucker is the baddest thing around. So with that dynamic in mind... I feel like this is why people didn't appreciate the prequels or the sequel because they didn't give that feeling of the big bad. I've heard many people say these things without themselves realizing that they are shitting on the whole experience just because of that. There's a whole other experience to be had though outside of this "big bad" & "hero complex" that people are looking for.
In the sequels, the big bad was Snoke & by extension Kylo once they killed the one they thought was the big bad in the second act. Simultaneously they stunted our hero complex by making Luke out to be the bratty self-defeatist kid that he always was... & that just added to their distaste... but these are all things we can get over. The movie tells a great story if you can get over the fact that Snoke was a puppet & Luke was a head case. I don't need a big bad nor do I need a hero complex shown on screen. I'm fine with the reality that these movies provided.
For some reason, with TLJ... I was able to get over this stuff in a matter of days. I rolled into the theater on opening night & got my picture taken with a Kylo Wren outside (who was at least a foot shorter than me btw... lol...) & then it took me a couple days to process it... but even though I wanted a super hero Luke, I was somehow able to transition to what we got & accept it. In hindsite, it was always there tbh. In the end, none of this stuff bothered me. I would've loved for Luke to be a super-hero... but that's not what we got, & the way he ended up was foretold by Yoda on Degobah when he said it's too late to start training Luke. Snoke's whole purpose was to be killed in that moment by Kylo. All this ads up. The pretense of waiting 2 years in between movies is what fucks all this up. Taken AND ACCEPTED as a whole, this is a great story.
I enjoyed the Canto Bite stuff, but if you didn't then so what... let it go. Didn't like Rose? ...fook it, there's a lot more movie outside of her & that's a minor complaint tbh.
Anywayz... I'm not trying to sell anyone on how they like or dislike the prequelz or sequelz, but I'm just offering my opinion. Teh resistance litterz these threadz daily with their negativity... so I sure as fook have that same right to express my opinion as well... so there it is.
I'm not bothered by the things people have expressed that they don't like about it. Trust me, I've heard ALL the gripes. That's a fact xA Million times over. I just get where the writers are coming from & I don't bother myself with any behind the scenes stuff. There's no KK, JJ, or Rian in Star Wars canon, & I'm not concerned with any of that when I take in the story. I don't need a big bad, & just like teh whole triple trilogy... & every other sci-fi movie ever made for that matter, I just overlook the minor flaws in order to take in the story... & I think the sequel tells a great story & caps off the Skywalker/Sid saga nicely.

What if they told you that Ani was mentally manipulated by the most powerful Sith ever... from the time he was 10 to the time he impregnated his wife, & was implanting dreams into his head that forced him into a frenzy of Sith feelings. If someone had said “his wife got vaguely sick with something and so he went crazy and destroyed the Jedi” they probably would have got kicked in the balls.
Some harsh truths from someone who loves Star Wars but hates Disney. He has some good points. I think some people in this thread have rationalized why so few people have any idea who Jedi are, but that never sat well with me.
I totally agree that Mando maybe having a troubled past with them could have been cool.
I definitely ain't no spacehog expert, butt...
The prequels may have been shite, yet they answered the MAJOR question why and how an Annie became a Vader.
I'm a hardcore casual. That's a great video. I haven't rationalized it so much as I've just accepted that in order to rebuild the franchise F&F are gonna have to walk back some of the damage JJ&KK did. It was appropriate how when he said Dark Times it froze on a frame of JJ & KK.
Not really. RotS has become a cult favorite of the prequels due to it being the IRL ending of the Clone Wars animated series. Prior to the series people shit on it somewhat. The series helped flesh out Anikan in a way that everything he did on RotS made sense.
I may have a short attention span for an average person, however I think I'd rank top-25% on Dogg, and maybe top-50% in the Berry.
That guy is a fucking idiot & spews hater bullshit using partial truths.
I'm being hard on him because I'm matching the same level of hate that he's spewing. My intention is not to insult you for posting it, but I don't know how you listen to this shit.
I had to shut it off after he went on & on about how everyone forgot about the jedi. He complains about how Disney doesn't understand the world they bought, but he outs himself by saying that. Does he not understand that he's watching a television & is privy to things that the citizens of that world don't get to see?
The citizens of the star wars universe knew the Jedi were cops, but very very very few of them actually witnessed the sorcery... & most didn't believe they had powers. It's not like they broadcasted sorcery shows for everyone to watch. Even if they did, I'd say very few people feel like the magicians we see on TV are really sorcerers. Do you feel like Penn & Teller are sorcerers @Loiosh? Do you believe that Merlin was a sorcerer? No, these things were stories that a very limited number of people ever saw first hand... & even those who maybe saw something didn't likely believe it the same way we don't believe a magic trick we see in front of our eyes.
The powers of the Jedi were widely considered myths even at the height of the Jedi order, much less 28 - 50 years later after the Emperor's efforts to wipe their history clean. So this dipshit wants to make a sarcastic point about how they were not remembered by every single person on every single planet in the entire galaxy, but the reality is that after 28 years people forgot the name of a police force. It's not that hard to wrap your head around. (though it may be for this dipshit)
...& Rey grew up on fucking Jakku ffs & this jerk off spews hate all over the fact that she didn't know if the stories were true? Teh fook? At least she heard the stories. That dynamic is very well understood by anyone who gives it even a quick thought. He's a hater who's dishing out click bait though, so he'd rather not talk about the reality of the situation.
It caught my attention that Din Jaren never even heard of Jedi... but it's not a plot hole. He grew up in a very tightly controlled group that tells you how to act & how to think... & he's not exactly a social butterfly that's going to sit around & bullshit with people at teh cantina who might mention a police force from 28 years ago.
As former members of Death Watch, his clan likely understood the sorcery but chose to keep that information from their younglings. This isn't hard to understand. Telling younglings about the sorcerers simply was not the way.
It's not common knowledge... though the "stories" are common. How many people in that universe were on Degobah with Yoda? How many were in the Emperor's chambers? ZERO... that's right.... all these things that we as the viewing audience understand completely, happened behind closed doors to the majority of the rest of the galaxy. To most people the Jedi were talented cops who created a myth around them to intimidate people & the poor emperor is just some politician from Naboo that rose to power through the senate.
If this guy made any more stupid rants after the 5 minute mark, I'll never know because I'm not going to be subjected to any more of this complete idiot's skewing of reality & lack of understanding. His sarcastic demeanor is bad enough, but when his chaotic rants aren't even valid, it just becomes pointless to listen.
Not going to lie, didn't read
My previous post meant:I don't know what this means, but the jist of that post is that I feel there was a lot of pretense going into the sequel trilogy & the curve balls people were given threw them into dark Sith behavior mainly because it threw off their idea of the way they thought it should be. I feel like the sequel trilogy is more solid than a lot of the resistance makes it out to be, & that given a decade or so (like it took for the prequels to be appreciated) I think a lot of people will come around.
Honestly in these dayz of social media, I think there's a helluvalot of posers out there who are just riding the hate train for attention. I pray for those people's soul to be released & become an actual self thinking entity... but unlike them, I would never demand that they think the way I want them too. I want them to have their own opinions... but when they regurgitate bullshit, it's just way too obvious that some people haven't developed enough to create their own pov outside of what videos they've watched or what the general consensus is. I'm not saying anyone who presents a video or a negative opinion is fooked... I do it myself... I'm just saying to have your own pov outside of whatever the video says... so that we can discuss it.
It's really easy to see someone who's little more than a puppet when they can't hold down a decent conversation. They usually attack me directly instead of explaining their pov... that's a sure sign of someone who doesn't have any understanding or opinions of their own.
I stopped at "didn't read"

If you cant andle a real discussion then don't post this hater bull shit.
fuck you too & everyone else who can't be bothered to have any real discussion after posting hate.My previous post meant:
Who's gonna read those walls'o'yours?
And, no, I'm no riding no trains. Attention seeking?!! This is probably the only place I dare to opine on SWs at all. I'm too ashamed to discuss it irl.
The sequels simply do not make any "logical sense", however little of that is usually meant to be in fantasy space opera.
You haters want to just bully the people who like it & then you run off when someone offers some real discussion. Fuck you & fuck @Loiosh & anyone else who wants to hijack THE MANDALORIAN thread with their triple trilogy hate & then claim to not have time to read a retort. The prequels may have been shite,
The sequels: Sunshine doing "limitless" shit was, well, too much even for a fantasy space opera. Within two minutes of watching Kyle she can do mind tricks herself and is a 5th-dan ranked purple belt ninjedi?
I say PEDs were involved.
USADA should have been called.
Fuck me?fuck you too & everyone else who can't be bothered to have any real discussion after posting hate.
You haters want to just bully the people who like it & then you run off when someone offers some real discussion. Fuck you...
Oh you can offer some of your valuable time to reply to that bull shit but you can't be bothered to answer to the real discussion?Fuck me?
You wish, you homo!
Get in fucking line.
P. S. You were somewhat right on derailing. This thread is not about the trilogies.
Them be connected tho.
I honestly always struggled with this idea. It doesn’t ruin things for me, but I certainly notice it. Maybe it’s because we live in a world where everything is recorded and posted. It’s always seemed odd to me that there isn’t a SW version of YT or something. I do get what you’re saying about the Jedi being relatively few in number and spread out, but they were high profile and had been around for thousands of years. That guy is a fucking idiot & spews hater bullshit using partial truths.

Chill, duderino. Undercover-yellow-mod my ass!Oh you can offer some of your valuable time to reply to that bull shit but you can't be bothered to answer to the real discussion?
Thank you for recognizing the hijack. There's apparently no mod intervention in these Star Warz threads.. (never was really) so I'm kind of outing myself as an undercover mod, but just keep that between you & I.& ffs don't tell @Loiosh he still thinks he's on topic apparently,
I'm about to yellow card his ass.

lol! yeah, exactly! The Clone Wars goes a long way to show they have stuff in common although their romance isn't nearly as intense as it should be.
I'm glad you enjoyed it tbh; you're right it doesn't conflict that much outside Leia, except inso far as Anakin was tricked rather than seduced. Seduced by the dark side means to me... he realizes he can just do certain things he had been struggling with by taking a darkside shortcut. He can get fame and happiness and all he has to do is lie and cheat a bit. Perhaps there is a siege and no way to feed the prisoners so he takes it upon himself to kill them. Maybe he quietly removes the emperors political opponents in order to get crucial funding for the war. Slowly making compromises to the point where he'd become a monster. They did a bit of that in Clone Wars but the movies don't have a hint of it imo.
I don't mind that he betrayed his old friends over a woman so much as the way he did it was so flakey. Like he was just braindead, might as well have been crosseyed.
right... but they don't got that. the internet they do got is controlled by Sid & his propaganda... so 28 years after he took control, and he's been controlling the airways at the cost of death, do you think that anyone is really privy to the fact that the democrats rigged the election? The democrats own the tv stations, so you don't hear a peep about it here on earth. Imagine that 1,000x over with Sid being the one you answer to.I honestly always struggled with this idea. It doesn’t ruin things for me, but I certainly notice it. Maybe it’s because we live in a world where everything is recorded and posted. That's 2 times too many... & one more for your "bad films" comment this time you fooking casual.Chill, duderino. Undercover-yellow-mod my ass!
I posted my opinion on the sequels twice. If you want I can quote them.
And, tbh, I'm too much of a casual to be a hater.
I simply dislike bad films, not the sequel trilogy specifically. I didn't watch Clone Wars or Solo or other side shows.
I got into Mandalorian simply because everyone was talking about it.
Is that surprise bucket-butt-secks?
