Love what I'm seeing. Looking forward to the release.

I have no faith in the movies. This I may watch though. Favreau has a good track record, Pascal kills it and its fucking Carl Weathers!

Was planning on getting the Disnet streaming service for my kid anyway.

The combination of Pascal and Favreau did it for me. Should be a romp-roaring good time.

I saw somewhere that the first seven minutes was shown of The Mandalorian. Does youtube have it in better than shaky bootleg quality?

The Mandalorian: Jon Favreau Using Holodeck-Like Filming Techniques

In an interview with Collider, Dallas Howard discussed the cutting edge filming techniques Favreau is implementing on this new projects, (same stuff the Russo brothers were in awe of on their set visit):

"John Favreau, of course, is known for pushing emerging technology forward. What he did with Jungle Book, what he is doing now with The Lion King. I mean this is really extraordinary, sort of what is possible because of these projects."

"There were so many times when I would be like "It’s okay John we can just do it that way" and he’s like "I just want to see if its possible, we just need to see if its possible," I’m like "okay" and its tested and way more times you find out it is possible and its better."

"There was specifically something that we shot in called The Volume, and basically you step into it and the naked eye, you can’t tell that you are surrounded by, basically, LED screens.

And you feel like [you’re] wherever the story is taking place. It’s almost like — this is the wrong term to use, especially for this project, but it’s almost like a Holodeck."

The Holodeck is a feature of the Star Trek universe where characters visit an area of a ship capable of rendering fully immersive virtual reality experiences that are indistinguishable from real life.

It'll be fascinating to see how shooting scenes in "The Volume" will translate into the finished product. Will viewers be able to tell which scenes have utilized this cutting edge tech or will the telltale signs of CGI trickery still be present?
"The Volume" sounds like something that offers the actors a more immersive and enjoyable way to shoot.

Speaking with actor Giancarlo Esposito about production on The Mando:

“Jon Favreau’s brilliant. Technically, this show has a new technology [that’s] never really [been] refined as much as it is right now. We’re in a place called The Volume, where we do most of our acting, where set pieces are brought in, where we can control the physical atmosphere of what is projected on the walls and control how gravity is; you get a feeling that gravity is being played with. This is a show that’s gonna be really fantastic.”

Intrigue points ++

It looks like a good show and her being in it is nice.

How has a Ronda-Gina fight not happened?

Between Ronda, Gina, and the UFC I wonder what the interest levels are. Seems like it would be of great interest to all parties, and you know the UFC wants it. I wonder where Ronda and Gina stand.

I'm more pumped for the Star Wars tv series than any new movie. Tv they can go more in depth and fix things.

Because Gina was retired for years before Ronda even made her debut. They tried but never got anywhere with negotiations.

And technically Gina still has 4 fights left on her Strikeforce contract (which the UFC now owns).

Gina stopped fighting over a year before Ronda had her first amateur fight, that's how. Movies paid better and hurt less.

Funnily enough I caught Gina in a Kevin Smith movie this week. She's in the trailer for a second but I'm pretty sure it's her.

Tv and the new game looks better than the movie.

Ya I'm aware of all this. Just feels like 10 million dollars for one fight with someone who's equally invested at this point.

And Gina was someone who didn't come from another sport, or crossfit or whatever. Seemed like someone who would at least train casually in retirement.

And she's the same age as Holly. I wouldn't have her as a huge dog if they announced a Ronda fight happening next year, and she had at least 6 months to train armbar defense.

Also, the UFC doesn’t have a SHW division
