lol feel free to make fun of me. i know you will.

I'm in no position to actually laugh at anything since I've got trouble with the d@mn burpees.

One question thought, I alway thought the swings where to be made all the way up and not stop at shoulder level. Is that the way Ross teach them or what's the advantage of doing them at shoulder level?

The DB was 45 lbs, my BW was 175 lbs, my time 9m18s.

I was taught to swing the DB up to eye level, and I think I read that in Ross s book, II.

Swinging it higher bugs my shoulder as the weight becomes weightless and cuts off the hip pop and most people will make it an arm swing to get it up.

now that you're mentioning it, it's true that in the last few inches the weight isn't as significant. But in my case I know that I can't only use my arm to get a 40lbs dumbel straight up like that, my hips will still make the swing. I'll have to give this way a try just to see how it goes.

I asked because if I remember correctly in the full throtle dvd, Ross was making full swings with a 70lbs dumbell (It kinda struck mw since he said "Right now I'm using a moderate weight"...what??? lol) I'll check the dvd again just to be sure and out of curiosity.

The most I have used for this complex is 60 lbs because it is one third of BW.

It is not that bad.

so is that the whole workout? it looks pretty beastly

Everyones snatches and swings looked horrible. I'd suggest giving everyone a lower weight and making sure they're using explosive power from the legs, not their upperbody.

Lotta first-timers. They will learn.

That was the opener for the class. We did 3 rounds of jump rope and then the dumbbell GPP, then went onto Thai Pads and etc...

I assumed they were new to it, but you should have gone through and corrected them the first time with lower weights.

Does, "Well we did it like this last time and you didnt correct us", sound good?

Well at least I have material for the weekend.

not meaning this as rude...if your the guy right in front of the camera you looked good most others were pretty damn bad technique wise but if their new i would expect nothing less...not that they were tired but form on everything was off....explain to them the hard part of the burpee is how hard and high you jump cuz i saw many 2 inch jumps lol....

Hey, that's what my jumps look like by the end too dammit. lol

Nice one FS. That was actually most of my workout today too.
