Most people don't have problems with black conservatives. What many people have a problem with is conservatives constantly propping up black conservatives, even when they're idiots, for some odd reason. The knob gobbling of a guy like Rev. Jesse Lee Petersen, and abject bible thumping moron in a recent thread is a quite good example. I don't like making people into totems, regardless the side, and I think most people would agree with me.

You can't identify as a democrat without being viewed as a leftist cuck (by the right), and you can't identify as being a republican without being viewed as a racist hick (by the left).

People should identify with policies, not parties. Both the democrats and the republicans are ineffectual and seemingly do not have the best interest of Americans at heart. The fact that politicians are forced to tow the party line instead of thinking like autonomous adults is what's the problem.

It had nothing to do with what she said. It was an attempt to smear and demonize her as "despicable". They were blaming her for implicitly condoning and "normalizing" Hitler's views. That's because they're desperate to stigmatize any black who exercises freethinking that diverges from their own political narrative, and particularly with regard to race. They don't care about black people. They are simply desperate not to see any fracture in the power they draw from that demographic.

No, she was falsely characterized to feed this ridiculous notion that you have swallowed hook, line, and sinker that she said "dumb shit". No, her comment wasn't idiotic if you show the whole clip. More importantly, its character doesn't remotely resemble how it was being construed if you represent the rest of that. It was a straw man.

She was defending nationalism. She was criticizing Hitler for not being a genuine nationalist, and she offered an explicit reason for why. She was parsing race nationalism from nationalism. Nationalism itself is problematic, because it tends to define extreme views regarding sovereignty, whereas patriotism makes more sense, but she unequivocally did NOT defend Hitler, or seek to "normalize" his views.
