The Kochs freeze out Trump

Is Trump really a Democrat doing a Steven Colbert imitation?

If Colbert was somehow unaware that he was a caricature. Make no mistake, Trump believes these things. He just doesn't know why he's wrong. He's pure Id validation in human form.

I don't buy it. I think he desperately wants attention and is saying whatever to play to his audience. I could just as easily see him in 2020 saying that we need to break up big banks or whatever nutty idea the far left has at that time.

They're pretty much backing everyone in the GOP lol.

100k people meeting in 3500 cities across the nation. All organized events done by local support. History is being made. FEEL THE BERN!

In terms of the democratic debate, I'm actually excited to see Sanders debate Hillary. I hope he totally destroys her. Otherwise, I think that bitch O'Malley is gonna be in the same boat as John Edwards in 2008.

It's weird cause he doesn;t need the money but also has mentioned he isn't going to advertise either because people already know who he is. Also, for now, the media seems to be doing all the advertising he needs and good/bad publicity is the same thing with this guy,

So, are we saying at this point that a person simply cannot become the republican candidate for president without the personal backing of two private citizens, Charles and David Koch?

It's really that naked and stark? And the GOP is fine with it?

They are worth over 100 billion and have the influence that comes from having that kind of money. I don't know if the GOP is fine with it but these are the kind of people they are in bed with so it is what it is. It isn't like this is their first rodeo together and both sides have mutually benefited. This is politics today. We don't even pretend politicians aren't bought and paid for by special interest groups and big business.

Lobbying is just legal bribery and very few candidates can win without a full war-chest. Matching funds means nothing when you have players at this level so politicians no longer rely on modest donations by a bunch of people through grassroots movements where then they get matching state or federal funds. They are either independently wealthy already and/or have some big backers on top of it. The 'people' keep having less and less to do with the process. Which is probably why Congress doesn't give a shit about its constituents.

Trump is for everything American number 1. That's not popular in America.

Koch Bros are just mad, their employee, Walker does not have a prayer in getting the GOP nod. Walker had a shot, but Trump blew that shit up. It still will be Jeb, with Trump playing the wild card.
They still have some pull with Jeb, but with Walker if one of them whipped out their weiner at the inauguration, Walker would pull a muscle due to the speed at which he dropped to his knees.
Right now only Sanders and Trump are the least beholden to corporate overlords.
Hil-Dog may as well move the White House to Wall Street.
That is the problem with this election, with Citizen United, both debate stages will be filled with whores.

That's because Trump is a corporate overlord himself.

I never understood though why people think being super rich somehow makes people not corrupt. It's just not true. Greed knows no limits in a lot of these guys.

Look at the first GOP debate. There are so many they have to break it up into two groups.
Look at the group that are polling less than 2 to 3%. They are in it to ring money out of their hardcore supporters. It is not a huge hustle but it pays the bills and all you have to do is show up in Iowa and NH every 4 years and you can carve out a decent living. Hell Palin can live off her fan base for the rest of her life. Pump out a book every couple years, and never have to work again. It is an easy hustle, just work 1 year out of 4.
Then look at the next group that are polling over 8%, those dudes are being fed money by big business. That group is the most corrupt. The small hustle guys they are harmless, these guys are told how to shape policy.
With that said, Hilary puts everyone but Walker to shame, in the favors she owes. IF she was a medieval ruler, she would just hand her seal out to Wall STreet, and it would save her time, from approving all her donors wishes. They could just do it themselves.
Trump is trolling just don't know his end game. Personally I hope it is to expose the whole election process is a big fucking sham.

Well, I think he starts from a base of what he believes, and then just lets his mouth run until the "Make America Great Again!" He's obviously the apex blowhard, but I think he thinks he can do things that make no sense just because he is who he is. It just so happens that the audience he is pandering to is also composed of people who find his reprehensible personality endearing. I think he would have a much harder time making a splash in the Democratic primary.

Given current conditions, he wouldn't make any splash in the Democratic primary, and I think that's the reason he's not in it. But if he could, I think he'd try. I don't think he has any real ideological commitments.

You could easily be right, but I feel he's growing into these ideas as they get cheers, like a child learning what makes mommy laugh. It's not extremely hard to attribute horrible positions to a person like him, which is why people love his "honesty."

You know what's great the Koch brothers are flaunting the fact that they are buying Republican Candidates. One upside to Trump is he wants to screw with the Koch brothers with his wealth. I believe being so attached to his ego Trump loves the fact he is also taking on two of the most powerful people in the Country. Fun fact the Koch brother who is the one you least hear from is really not completely a fan of the brothers. He is the only member of the family who served in the military and saw combat in the Navy. Frederick is also a graduate of Harvard and spends most of his time in Massachusetts. He is not really on board with the stance his brothers are taking but has decided not to take them on. Too bad it would have been interesting because he seems to have more common sense then his brothers David and Charles.
