This might be an unpopular opinion--But I believe this chart highlights that the world has by and large done an amazing job staving off death from this pandemic. If you look at other pandemics (Black Death, Spanish Flu, Plague of Justinian, and just about anything ever with Yersinia pestis) the populace would have been tickled wirh even Italy's per capita deaths.

We can do better of course, but as far as pandemics go this one is mild.

Thats an interesting point.

You could say this is the first world pandemic that humanity could actually fight. So it shows our progress on a macro level.

Go medical science, communications technology and well ordered societies.

So they have about as much as Americans while not having to worry about healthcare or education? Sounds great. Were you supposed to have some sort of gotcha here? I am not seeing it.

First, in Norway, the "democratic socialist" country whose members have the most among democratic socialist countries, the average person consumes about 2/3 what the average American does. That's not "about as much". Second, isn't the argument for democratic socialism that the non-rich ought to have more stuff than they do under capitalism? If that's the case, then we can jettison the idea of democratic socialism, because the average American has more stuff than the average person in democratic socialist countries.

Cost isn't the only thing people worry about when it comes to healthcare. There's also the issue of wait times. Wait times are longer in democratic socialist countries. There's also survival rates. From 2010 to 2014 the US beat all four of the following -- Canada, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark -- on survival rates for more types of cancers than all four beat the US.www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5879496/bin/NIHMS940842-supplement.pdf

In terms of education, apparently education isn't enriching the people in democratic socialist countries, otherwise members of these countries wouldn't have less stuff than Americans.

Is everyone ready for the day that 2% of our population really does have complete control over the 98%? That is exactly where our society is heading right now. It's the modus operandi of the individuals who will be puppeting Joe Biden as President. The same mistakes of the past.
