The HW division is a perfect example of the sport-evolution fallacy

The Overeem that beat Hari, Teixeira, Aerts, and Spong was too big and strong imo. Also he was juiced beyond belief.

LOL, that overeem was outstruck by werdum, and knocked out by bigfoot.

More weight cutting, less roids...

Guys like Mirko would never be HW if they were coming up in today's MMA.

Guys like Jiri, Alex, Hill, Jan, Ankalaev, Rakić, Nemkov, etc, all would have been HWs back then.

99% today across all weight classes are a division below where they should be.

Everyone was saying the same thing about Ngannou : he was supposed to be an evidence that the level was lower today.

It didn't matter that Ngannou was USADA tested + destroyed and i mean literally destroyed most of the so-called legends, many people on Sherdog were still delusional (they can't deal with both : facts and logic). Now that Ngannou also beat the HW boxing champion, those delusional people are suddenly a bit more quiet about him.

To summary, it's always the same story : delusional nostalgics that will never understand. So until the next HW champion beats Godzilla, they still won't understand. I mean, it doesn't matter that Ngannou beat Fury, he still has no chance against Fedor. So unless someone beats Godzilla = no chance against Fedor <seedat>

Gane ain’t overcoming that punishment in the first place.

Gane is a little harder to hit than Bigfoot lol.

He held up very well against Ngannou in the stand up, who on most evidence seems to hit way way harder then Reem ever did.
