The Hulk vs The Thing(Fantastic 4)

Ever since wwh they've amped the character so much I can't take it seriously. And half of it is just ignoring the powers of his opponent. They've turned the whole marvel universe into the brooklyn brawler.

Hulk has always been touted as the strongest there is though.

i guess since the sun powers superman & every1 thinks supermans a can, then ipso facto

That does really do make sense. Just like the Kryptonians are aware of the godlike powers they would receive from a yellow sun, but they just think: "Meh, I'm good here on this planet where I'm basically a 'handicable' can. Still better than getting solar powered into a can amongst cans."

Physically the strongest =/= completely invincible. Much like Wolverine, his power kept increasing with his popularity to ridiculous levels. And most of the people he fights inexplicably forget all of their own powers and just bang with him, bro. Chumping characters that were historically his equal or stronger like thor, namor juggernaut, etc. Is just crap writing and boring. He used to get outsmarted and outfought fairly regularly, now he's superman or goku level, which makes the character boring. Like superman, and goku.

Well, Hulk has also gotten smarter as they developed the character, so it's harder to outsmart him.

Yeah, they neglect a lot of possibilities for opponents of the Hulk to beat him, but that happens in every single comic that keeps on going long enough and mashes with other comics. That's just the nature of comics and requires to strengthen your suspension of disbelieve. If you look too critically at any comic it will fall apart with inconsistencies. So I don't, and I find Goku, Hulk and even Superman (sometimes) still enjoyable. But Superman in JL is just on another level of ridiculousness.

There is still a genius brain inside him, he just doesn't use it that much because he fuels himself with rage.

Classic hulk did not have access to Banners brain though. It was like multiple personalities, and the hulk persona was a mindless brute.

True, but people change and adapt. There have been many internal struggles depicted within Banner's/Hulk's mind. He must have learned something from those, and maybe found a way to tap into more of his mental capacities. And even then, in the early comics he was always very simple, but often still made a lot of sense. So he wasn't completely stupid.

Wait why did Batman fight the Hulk? One is Marvel and one is DC. Either way it is all in the utility belt.

It's one of the DC/Marvel cross overs. It's also Full Retard. The Hulk would barely feel a kick from Batman, never mind have the wind knocked out of him.

not even close. The hulk has destroyed the thing every time they've fought.

Can someone come up with a strength ladder for Marvel characters?
