I never understood why they told us that they'd leave if Trump won. Was it supposed to be a threat? Are they that delusional that they think that we'd reconsider our vote out of fear of losing them?

Obama is popular because he is not perceived as part of the established elite.

She got roughly 202,000 more votes than him nationwide because of populous states like California and New York that heavily lean Democrat. But in between the coasts, she got killed. She lost solidly Democratic states. Wisconsin hadn't gone red since 1984. Pennsylvania since 1988. Michigan, same story. And on and on and on. Is none of this registering with you?

I have bad news for them, its going to get worse from their perspective for a while. This is how politics works, you win some you lose some. They just had 8 years of Obama, did they think the Democrats were just going to string together administrations for the next 100 years? What are they going to do when Trump repeals the affordable care act, and he will? He says he will replace it with something better but people are going to freak the fuck out.
