The good guy won tonight.

lol at Nick being the bad guy. Some people just have to have a villain to hate.

Diaz is not the joker or penguin. He's a regular cat just like everyone else.

Right.

Listen guys. My definition of heart and yours differ. I consider heart putting it all on the line for a finish. It means fighting for a finish not a win.

I don't care what your definitions are.

I'm not a casual fan, I just have my preferences.

Amazing how many people are butthurt by this comment after their favorite fighter won. You can have your opinion, I'll have mine.

Not giving Diaz enough credit at all. He was constantly getting back to his feet and as the fight went on was clearly looking better. He wasn't given enough to work with as far as going for the finish is concerned, GSP's a very good defensive fighter. However to say Nick showed zero heart is very ignorant, he didn't just stand in the pocket eating jabs like Koscheck, fight completely defensively like Hardy or turtle up and eat big knees like Serra, he was looking for subs and constantly trying to get to his feet. Nick showed as much heart as he usually does and GSP's face after the fight shows that.

Now whats all this about silencing critics? GSP is mostly criticised for his lack of finishing ability, we all knew he had the tools to beat Diaz and if anything GSP just proved the critics right.

He did not silence any critics last night, he did exactly what everyone criticizes him for.

Also, I'm shaking my head at the whole "good guy, bad guy" thing. As if GSP fights injustice everywhere and Diaz eats children and enslaves nations.

The UFC painted them as The Good Guy and The Bad Guy, and you ate it up.

You don't know anything about either one of them other than what you've been sold.

Been sold? Hahaha. When was the last time GSP flipped someone off, called em a motherfucker and started a brawl? Damn UFC hype machine brainwashing me

And GSP outstruck the big, bad boxer, remember? Not just takedowns, smart guy.

Why can't anyone read? He gave Diaz what he wanted and outstruck the striker. He didn't change his approach drastically, which is why I used the word, "measured".

Theres no heroes or villains here for chrissakes, just 2 prizefighters competing at the highest level. I will say that the better fighter won, and its better for the UFC as well because GSP represents the business a hell of a lot better than Diaz. Nick threw cheap shots after the bell, made excuses after the fight that would make Rampage blush and theres a good chance he will test positive for ganja

You also said Diaz showed "a complete lack of heart/zero heart" which is what I commented on and disagreed with.

WHY CAN'T YOU READ TS!?

Diaz is not the joker or penguin. He's a regular cat just like everyone else. GSP is a tremendous fighter and world class athlete. There is no question he is a credit to the sport and a great champion. In my eyes, his legacy is greater than Anderson Silvas.

If there is a "bad" guy in MMA, it is Diaz.

Time and time again he give us examples of a person with no class. Last night was no different. After each of the first 3 rounds he took cheap shots (or tried to atleast) at GSP. There wasn't much power behind them, but just another example of Diaz being a total loser.

Damn UFC hype machine brainwashing me  So being passionate and a little aggro makes you a"bad guy"? I guess all punk rockers from the 80's and early 90's are borderline super-villians. Not to mention the dudes in your av.

And GSP outstruck the big, bad boxer, remember? Not just takedowns, smart guy.

Where did I say anything about takedowns? GSP fans are so defensive they almost have to make shit up to get upset over.

He gets criticized for not finishing fights. Did he finish the fight last night, "smart guy?"
...

What critics? Only Diaz nuthuggers thought he'd win. The fight went exactly how the majority of people thought it would.

I think that's what people are getting at when they say "bad guy".

I could care less that he can hardly string 2 understandable sentances together, or that he smokes weed. It's his attitude, and demeanor which makes him unlikeable for me. He brings the "villian" or "bad guy" image upon himself with his actions.

Read my first post PROPERLY. If it still makes no sense then you're beyond help.

Nope, still makes zero sense. We're talking about completely different things. I already explained my definition of heart and Nick's lack thereof. You don't waste gifted time to implement your gameplan by walking around with your hands at your sides, talking trash. That's copping out and self-sabotaging, just like taking cheap shots after the bell. Any fighter who gives a shit would never risk being disqualified in a title fight. That's completely cowardice, IMO. He showed no sense of urgency or elevated aggression when knowing he's obviously down on the score cards. All these examples show me a fighter not doing everything in his power to win against all odds. And that's what a fighter with heart strives to do. Hardy had heart, Fitch had heart, Carlos had heart. I don't even like Diaz, but I expected more from him after all his bullshit hype.

Get it now?
