I read the book about a year ago and it was pretty good. Not particularly great, but good and grim.

but the movie is just so much better. It's pretty much a page for page reproduction but, I guess zombies were meant for the screen because it really brings to life a lot of the story's points and the scenes are better. It kind of feels like 28 days later, but with a twist.

It's available on amazon prime BTW

Somehow I have missed this movie, never heard about it. I'll probably watch it tonight as I have crushing depression and all my hobbies suck so might as well.

Cheers.

Oh Perfect! It's super depressing!

Saw it on Netflix a while back (knowing nothing of the book)

It's an interesting spin on the genre and definitely worth the watch.

Was an interesting take on Zombies and quite original.

Was the pods copied from The Last Of Us or vice versa? Because that's all I could think when I saw them at the end.

I like the half infected having a somewhat normal state of mind but still being aggressive and working with eachother.

I didn't like how they portrayed the American scientist to be the villain, she was trying to save humanity and if that comes at the cost of one girl then so be it.

Overall good though but 28 Days Later is better

oh yeah 28 days later is probably the best zombies movie ever made, but this was interesting. Not sure about the last of us connection, I have no idea which came first. In the book instead of burning a tower of the pods they end up coming up to a huge wall of fungus/pods that if they tried to cross would kill all humans that stretched across a river and 1/2 a city. Almost everything else in the movie is word for word. I agree the Dr. isn't evil, but the story is from the girl perspective so if someone wanted your brain you would think they were bad too.

Yeah 28 Days Later is the best zombie movie ever made even though it's not technically zombies but you know.

This stuff should be depressing, if you find yourself thinking damn, I wish a zombie outbreak would happen so I could do XYZ then you have failed at the movie.

The smell thing was pretty cool in this flick though.

Yeah I know about the technically not zombie thing, but fast zombies have rights too :P I honestly get emotional every time the dad has the blood drop in his eye and he turns :(
This def got the details right. I also liked how the feral kids hunted the one soldier

I was really digging it up until the ending, just felt rushed and a little sloppy in the final act.

Honestly zombies are really corny, the old lust for brains and die and come back but can be easily killed by a smack round the head or fended off by a girl, it's just 80's popcorn flick.

The infected are terrifying, when watching you are thinking FUCK THAT, they are violent and relentless and they cough blood everywhere that's infected, they scream and will come through walls, there is nothing fun about them and I love it.

Dawn of the Dead 2004 was good but like living in a shopping mall LOL if that was the infected they would be coming in within 2 minutes, there is no escape with them, they would rip the glass out the doors with their teeth if need be.

Book was great..

The film was pretty terrible. They abridged so many interesting parts and completely removed the "junkers" from the film.

There were 2 or 3 particularly creepy scenes in the novel which they either glossed over or omitted in the film .

This is the 2nd worst zombie adaptation of a novel

yeah dude infected are truly terrifying. I sometimes wonder what the next "evolution" of zombie will be. At it's core it's everyone is mindlessly against you, my guess is aliens. Your post makes we want to watch dawn of the dead now lol
