I just have this feeling that midway through the season, I'm going to be frustrated with how the show will find ways to handicap the Flash. I've always been frustrated with how they treated his character in the animated films and TV shows. Super speed is one of the most instant-win powers and it's pathetic how the bad guys are capable of tagging him (let alone see him) or how he keeps on fumbling and getting hit by objects while running or how he just doesn't take out the bad guys at first sight. But at the same time, I can understand the reasoning behind it.

Dragonlord, are you a marketer for Hollywood or summin?

Or do you just LOVE to post news on shows?
You haven't watched Arrow? Pretty solid. It has a decent amount of lovey-dovey bullshit, but it overshadowed by great action scenes and a pretty engaging plot line.

A training partner actually said the same thing to me once, now that you mention it.

I always try to figure out how the flash villains could pose legitimate threats..early on as he learns his power ...ability I see how there would be issues ; but as his power and abilities grow it starts to get a little ridiculous...just because of his advantage in speed.

Maybe if you could sneak up on him..he isnt invulnerable...or u could drug him...its just hard to picture the threat guys would pose him..alot of people can hurt him its just being able to get to him to do the damage.

Giving it a shot. Who is the guy on the wheelchair? Is it Zoom?

The bar is so low for these super hero TV shows.

Arrow is total rubbish, the one saving grace being the nonstop mega babes getting so much screen time.

Agents of SHIELD is kinda lame too, with not as many girls.

Of course there is hardly anything worth watching on TV anyway so I guess its fine.

Holding out some hope for the Agent Carter show (Captain Americas GF) and Gotham.

I wish they would make a Punisher show.

So,THE FLASH pilot is exciting, optimistic and a ton of fun. Fantastic ending too. Very much what you'd expect from a Flash TV show. I'm in.

As expected, absolutely loved #TheFlash pilot. #RunBarryRun

My sons aren't in the 'superhero' phase right now, but holy moly, did the FLASH pilot reel them right in.

Eric Goldman
Watched my first new series pilot today. The Flash, naturally. There is an awwwwesome DC nod I didn

i think that the most logical way to nerf him would be burning up energy and just needing to consume a lot more.

The guy in the wheelchair is Harrison Wells (actor Tom Cavanagh) who is described as a rock star physicist and the brains behind the Particle Accelerator. Zoom is played by Rick Cosnett.

Professor Zoom and Killer Frost Cast in THE FLASH TV Series

Rick-Cosnett-Danielle-Panabaker-Flash-Dragonlord.jpg

The Vampire Diaries' Rick Cosnett and Danielle Panabaker (Shark, Sky High) are set to co-star opposite Grant Gustin and Jesse L. Martin in the CW pilot The Flash, based on the DC comic. The project, from Warner Bros TV and Berlanti Productions, is an origin story about Barry Allen aka The Flash (Gustin), a Central City assistant police forensics investigator who arrives in Starling to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past. Originally envisioned as a backdoor pilot episode of Arrow, Flash will now film a regular pilot directed by David Nutter, a move clearly geared toward a series pickup.

Cosnett plays star Detective Eddie Thawne, a recent transfer to the Central City Police Department, whose past is a mystery and who harbors a dark secret. Panabaker plays Caitlin Snow, a highly intelligent bioengineering expert who lost her fianc

I hate the idea of super speed, it should be completely unbeatable; I have no idea how they can manage it without super villains who can deal with him.

What would you do in their position? What kind of situations would you put the Flash in on television?

Any confrontations with regular criminals would be the equivalent of a squash match.

Hopefully there will be situations like disasters where he has to really work it.

Just saw the pilot episode and it's pretty good.

The Flash effects were great. Lots of DC Comics references and Easter Eggs. But what makes it all work is Grant Gustin who is just endearing as Barry Allen.

I don't see a problem with Flash dealing with normal criminals. The show will focus more on the meta-humans each episode and those will be the situations that will give Flash some problems. In the pilot episode, Flash is still a noob, so it's understandable if he doesn't react or fight optimally.

Love that Panabaker gif.

I really liked the original Flash TV series from either the late 80's or early 90's. Super-speed is such a ridiculously powerful ability and they never really explore it...since in reality they'd be basically invincible and solve all crimes within seconds.

Where is the pilot available online?
