No Barry Allen kicks ass, much more of a humble hero and is a good balance between Jay Garrick and Wally West

also John Wesley Shipp still looks good, I remember his minor stint on One Life to Life

although he did play a creep pretty good

Patrick Sabongui Joins THE FLASH as Police Captain Singh

The Flash has added another player to the mix. Actor Patrick Sabongui is boarding The CW's proposed Arrow spinoff, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. He will guest star in the pilot as Central City Police Captain David Singh. If The Flash receives a series order, there is a chance Sabongui's role could be expanded to recurring status. Sabongui has appeared in Almost Human, The Tomorrow People, Psych, Fringe and Stargate: Atlantis.

Flash follows Barry (Grant Gustin), a Central City assistant police forensic investigator who visits Starling City to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past. Through a freak accident, he is given the power of super speed that transforms him into the fastest man alive.

The cast also includes John Wesley Shipp (aka the original Barry Allen from the '90s series); Tom Cavanagh as physics "rock star" Harrison Wells; Jesse L. Martin as Detective West; Candice Patton as West's daughter and Barry's love interest Iris; Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, a bioengineering expert; Carlos Valdes as mechanical engineering expert Cisco Ramon; and Rick Cosnett as Detective Eddie Thawne.

For me, Wally (the immature jokester version) is more suited as a supporting character in the Justice League than the leading man.

Last I saw of Shipp, he was killed by a werewolf in Teen Wolf.

Robert Downey Jr. seems to have proven that a leading man with a sense of humor isn't a bad thing. But then again, I don't see Wally West as an immature jokester. Perhaps that's because I grew up reading 90's flash comics (terminal velocity, etc) and 90's JLA comics, where Wally was treated as a veteran and equal.

IMO Wally has the better stories, the better supporting cast, a far better origin story...so on and so forth. As a flash fan, I have to say Barry Allen is easily the least interesting version of...not just Flash, but all speedsters. I'd take Max Mercury, Impulse, Jay Garrick, Wally West, Quicksilver, and even Johnny Quick over Barry.
Just my humble opinion, and it's not one I expect others to share - but I can defend it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm also a big Wally West fan. Mark Waid's Flash run in the 90s was amazing. It was one of my favorite titles back then with "Terminal Velocity" as one of my favorite Flash stories ever. Plus the artists that were involved were fantastic (Mike Wieringo, Carlos Pacheco, Oscar Jimenez). But I'm equally a big fan of immature jokester Wally West from the Justice League Europe version in the late 80s (which was then copied in the Justice League animated series).

As for Wally West had the better stories, can't argue with you on that. But to put it in proper perspective, Wally had the benefit of modern writers telling his stories and developing his character while Barry Allen was out of the picture from the mid-80s to the 2000s. And judging from the New 52 reboot, the new Flash title starring Barry seems to be pretty good.

Ultimately I'm sort of a stickler for canon. Barry is the first Flash. It would be weird if we're introduced to Dick Grayson as Batman and Bruce Wayne doesn't exist.

Looks like a more manicured version of the crimson bolt IMO.

Those armpits are weird. It's like it wasn't properly sized for him or the designer didn't take into account the different flex in materials when choosing where the seams went.

It's mesh under armour with shoulder pads. Looks horrid. He looks like a member of the guardians of the galaxy
