I"m quite interested to see how it looks on screen. That promotional still looks promising, but it also seems a tad too much on the brown side.

Maybe they didn't want to make it too bright red to make it look less cartoony.

Wow! That way exceeded my expectations. I thought it would just be another Smallville Impulse costume. I hope it translates well on screen.

At least they were true to their word that they'll retain his trademark costume.

Barry Allen, the alter-ego of the lightning-fast super-speedster, will be introduced in the eighth, ninth and 20th episodes of Arrow's upcoming second season, producer Andrew Kreisberg and DC Entertainment's Geoff Johns told reporters during a Tuesday afternoon conference call. Casting is now under way to find an actor to play the DC Comics hero in what will be an origin story similar to Oliver Queen/Arrow. The 20th episode will serve as the back-door pilot for Flash. All three Barry Allen episodes will be penned by Berlanti, Kreisberg and Johns.

looks great! can't wait for this show, Arrow is still going strong too

Probably. And my guess is that it'll be a bit brighter when the lighting of the shot isn't so subdued. I hope the rest of the suit looks just as good (and my expectations are that it will, I have way more faith in this creative team right now than Snyder & Co).

Also, it seems to have been getting a really good reception. It even seems to be trending on Facebook.

I think it looks really good. It would have looked too cartoonish if it was really red.

Yeah I know. I just hope the situations they put him in or the reasons why he got flat-footed are credible.

Lightspeed might be too much. Safe bet would be speed of sound initially.

Yea I just want it to make some kind of sense if and when he gets taken out or down by his opponents; I imagine they will power him down for one, just like they did with Superman in most...ex kryptonians getting hurt..knocked around by machine gun fire from planes.

Another thing that will work in his opponents favor is by the time they will have seen him in action for a few months or over a year, meaning they will be prepared for what him and gunning for him. Not to mention Barry is a person who works with law enforcement..so he isnt trying to kill them and isnt really trying to hurt them..if he can avoid it.

So there should be a few ways to test him...without it being ridiculous or stupid..imo; as most heroes with powers..flash is kinda cocky and I could see his overconfidence costing him, unlike Batman or arrow who have to be prepared for anything due to the lack of advantages they have. The flash doesn't and that unwillingness to prepare can turn the tide.

Just an opinion...

I heard Cw is considering a young justice show...centered on superboy and Ms martian

So...they're rebroadcasting this?

Better yet, they've purchased the rights and are giving it a third season?

I'd much rather the cartoon continue than to see a live action version.

I know they're going darker for the DC Universe continuity, but that looks closer to Daredevil than Flash to me.

I think they're going for Wally West's shade of red which was darker than Barry's, which I prefer

I'm curious how the plot is gonna go. Arrow started off with Oliver piecing his life back together, and there's a lot of material that can be drawn from his time on the island and all that.

probably a little bit of origin with his mother's death
then some csi/detective type of stuff

put spoiler tags just in case some people don't know about Barry's origin

FWIW I thought Smallville was annoying with Clarke running around highspeed like that. Cant see how Flash wouldnt be that times 1000
