Andy Mientus is going from Smash to The Flash. The Broadway actor, currently playing Marius in Les Miserables, has been cast as Hartley Rathaway, aka Pied Piper in CW

Tony Curtis felt that lighting was one of the most important elements of making a movie, and I can see his point. You see people, costumes, sets, etc. on behind the scenes things and they can look a bit tacky; you seen them properly lit on screen and they look fantastic.

the lighting makes a big difference, when i first saw the still for flashs costume, it really did look tacky, but when i saw the show i had no problems with it.

i like the black mixed into reverse flashs costume

Keep hearing good things about this show.

Hope it pops up on Netflix.

After watching the pilot months ago, I just rewatched the first episode and noticed the yellow and red streaks that circled around Barry's mom and it got me thinking that maybe Reverse Flash/Professor Zoom wasn't the only metahuman present that night.

It's possible that the red streaks belonged to Flash. Maybe Barry traveled back in time at one point to try and prevent his mom's death. He fights Zoom (hence the red and yellow streaks) but his mom still dies. Another theory is that there was a previous Flash (a la Jay Garrick) in the past.

I like that theory. Garrick can have his New 52 origin which would explain why Barry was hit by the lightning bolt as well as confirm Green Arrow's "You Were Chosen" theory.

One of the recent DC Animateds, he does prevent his mother's murder, and ends up fucking up the timeline really badly.

Mummy gots to dieded.

...it's a whole lot better than Smallville.

Was there anything you liked about Smallville?

I hated the show but watched every single episode, because once or twice a season the show had an absolutely brilliant scene.

Some examples:

  • The fortune teller taking Luthor's hand and the vision of his future killing her.
  • Possessed Clark sensing Luthor cracking the Kryptonian relic above Egypt, flying there, ripping the door off the plane and taking the relic; possibly the coolest flight scene I have ever seen.
  • Clark catching a car; insanely good effect.
  • Clark (without powers) standing up to face a villain, wearing a blue and red shirt, the imagery was spectacular. He radiated strength.

Sadly, for every great scene there were a thousand bad ones; sitting through all the teen drama made me want to drink poison.

Can anyone work out who Zoom is from those images?

It was already revealed who Zoom is last January. I'll put it in spoiler tag just to be safe.

Professor Zoom and Killer Frost Cast in THE FLASH TV Series

Rick-Cosnett-Danielle-Panabaker-Flash-Dragonlord.jpg

The Vampire Diaries' Rick Cosnett and Danielle Panabaker (Shark, Sky High) are set to co-star opposite Grant Gustin and Jesse L. Martin in the CW pilot The Flash, based on the DC comic. The project, from Warner Bros TV and Berlanti Productions, is an origin story about Barry Allen aka The Flash (Gustin), a Central City assistant police forensics investigator who arrives in Starling to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past. Originally envisioned as a backdoor pilot episode of Arrow, Flash will now film a regular pilot directed by David Nutter, a move clearly geared toward a series pickup.

Cosnett plays star Detective Eddie Thawne, a recent transfer to the Central City Police Department, whose past is a mystery and who harbors a dark secret. Panabaker plays Caitlin Snow, a highly intelligent bioengineering expert who lost her fianc

So Eddie Thawne is supposed to be Eobard Thawne.

I thought they might be throwing curve balls like they do on Arrow.

I could think of 2 good things about smallville...Kristin Kreuk (Lana) and Laura Vandervoort!

I'm liking the Reverse Flash costume better than the Arrow costumes.
