Indie The First Berseker: Khazan

FINALLY finished Trokka. It wasn't even a satisfying victory, I just got lucky with her RNG. During the second phase she just kept summoning storm clouds which is like the easiest thing to avoid and attack. Whatever, I'll take it.

Next level is a poison swamp???? Of course it is. I hate this game.

Finished off Reese, close to the final boss. Got all the jarlings and soul stones. I think I’m like 80% towards the plat on it. Excited to see how this turns out and I’ve about had my fill. It’s a long ass game lol.

Ozma’s a bit of a bitch.
Now that you’re so deep in, do you feel the uncharacteristic length is more a disservice to the game or that the length is justified either as a value-add (player content) or story amplifier?

Interested in honest take on this.

I’ve thought a lot about it and I’m a bit torn. The game can feel like a slog at times, going back through side missions and facing reskinned bosses, the grueling difficulty, the lack of enemy variety, all lead to that.

But the combat truly does shine throughout. It’s not something I ever truly got bored with and the loot system keeps the grind alive. The bosses themselves are interesting and varied and they rarely feel cheap, even if they are brutal at times.

Just finished the last crucible challenge today. Completed berserker’s bloodshed last week. Toughest thing I’ve ever done gaming wise, even harder than the mortal journey in Sekiro. Has taken me about 3 weeks to beat them all, I know the bosses attack patterns better than they do at this point

Baby mode has gotten me unstuck from my wall in this game but Im at a crossroads. Difficulty is the only thing that makes this game interesting.
