The fight that defined GSP

Uggggghhhhhh- you're now making another illegal u-turn ( I know u mentioned an eye gauge 88 posts ago - I'm trying teach 3 or 4 of u at the same time so you're making things difficult).

Gsp is the goat ? ...right ? so he couldnt collect himself and dominate a guy like Shields on the feet.
You're so confused what and when u posted it- you're confusing me.

For my money :

Gsp wrestling > Shields grappling so he couldve taken that avenue.

Gsp is a fighter .....he cage fights for a living and he supposed to be one of the goats so I dont want to hear this shit.

Way to completely ignore and avoid the very simple question I asked.

What I get from this whole conversation is that context only matters when it supports the position you're trying to take. Cool. I'll keep that in mind in any future conversations I have with you.

I really don't care about your opinion. I care about facts.

Shields (a WW) totally dominated and embarassed Silva's best win (Hendo, a MW).
Lol- on the scale of the whole big picture, what does that mean ?
MMA math = mma fans are dummies.

Really , what are u trying to say ?

Serra ,literally , made gsp look like a deer in headlights . Gsp tapped to Matt Serra.
So what does that mean ?

Oh- no. I answered it. You didnt like my answer. I'll keep that in mind in any future convos I have with you.

I have to ask the gsp fans here, what is it that you enjoy about his fights? forget the person if you can, just talk about his fights. What is it about Georges' fights you enjoy. I have not read a single sentence in any gsp thread about enjoyment of his fights, just swift and instant justice on those not in the group.

Lol- I was about to , in a facetious manner, go through his title defenses but ..... it's all good. I just cant , for the life of me, understand how gsp backers get their panties in a twist if u dont agree that hes " the one ". Acknowledging hes one of the goats is just not good enough..... and you actually do bring up good points ( about his nyquil/ xanax substitute for sleep). If someone didn't consider him a goat but on that next tier( I'm not saying that) , I'd respect that opinion and i wouldn't call it unreasonable. If someone said - well i dont consider gsp " elite "..... ok , now that's an " unreasonable " opinion and that person made his bed.....so he can just get out of dodge or put that " suit" on and get ripped apart.

You never answered it at all. You skirted the question by bringing up some irrelevant bullshit about GSP being the GOAT, his wrestling being better than Shields so he should have used that instead blah blah blah. Meanwhile, you have shit on GSP multiple times about his boring lay and pray style. So again the simple question is:

Without Shileds trying to gouge GSPs eyes out, do you think that fight would be competitive in any way, shape or form? Or do you think it was competitive up to the point GSP was blind in 1 eye?

Don't skirt around the question(s). Don't play stupid, or try being obtuse. Simply answer.

Dc and Jones get shit on for eyepokes .... but how many times did GSP kicks Hughes in the balls during their rematch?

Once? Hughes even said the second one was just a well placed inside leg kick and he claims to have told the ref that but McCarthy insisted it was illegal. (I think it was him anyway)

I've never NEVER shit on gsp . In reference to him being thee goat - thee one , I've disagreed and offered my OPINIONS on why- complacency and smotherfests in reference to HIM NOT BEING THEE GOAT is not shitting on him.

Dude - this is just ...just getting silly.

Don’t recall him ever admitting that .... but I’ll tske your word for it

It's in his book. I don't blame you, or anyone, for not reading it but if you have twenty minutes it's pretty hilarious.

This one is a fallacy, indeed.

Admitted or not, The problem is not the 2nd one, it´s the 1st one.
BJM´s duty was to give a stern warnin´to No Rush after that 1st one, which would have:

1- prevented No Rush from givin´another [risky] one [potential 1 point deduction]

2- made Hughes less worried about another leg kick
Consequently, he would have [arguably] kept a much more 'balanced´ stance & perhaps avoided the head kick.

Matt said: "It´s not my groin. My legs feel like they´re asleep"
BJM:"Well, the way I see it, I think he hit you in the leg & it slid up"

then:
Matt:"George kept kickin´me with those leg kicks, and I dropped my hands to block"

BJM´s 1st mistake : No Stern Warnin´:

BJM´s 2nd mistake : No Point Deducted (since he assessed it as a 2nd low blow) :

GSP did plenty of striking after the Serra fight. GSP outstruck diaz, BJ Penn, Dan Hardy, Jon Fitch, Jake Shields, Mike Bisping, Josh koscheck. This was impressive in it's own time.

GSP didn't strike very much with alves because he had such a large advantage over him on the ground and we saw Alves get taken down by Hughes and Karo just before. Also GSP took down Condit because condit had poor TDD and was dangerous on the feet.

I don't remember there being much stand up in the Hardy fight it was a hilarious ground battle with GSP trying to pull a arm bar off against a fighter with sub level ground skills and that still managed to survive despite GSP's best attempts but I could be wrong haven't seen it in years.

Wait so gsp gets a pass for surviving a few rounds on the feet with jake sheilds because his eye was supposedly gouged yet you give him adulations for taking a one eyed kos 5 rounds. You gsp people are just so unreasonable when it comes to disrupting the myth of georges being the goat.

Why do you care so much about GSP and his fans?

I'm more a fan of GSP for how he represented the sport. He definitely changed his approach after the first Serra fight. He definitely made near every fight lack excitement with his approach. He also definitely had more time in the cage where he could have made a mistake that led to a loss but didn't than many, if not all, other champions. I won't say it was exciting necessarily but it was impressive.

Goulet vs Bang or any ko from the bottom is far more embarrassing than getting annihilated by a Hendo right.
Well - it was UFC 100 and that face that got contorted into shoop city legend and where he landed right underneath that logo with an air hendo follow up.

I DOUBLE DOWN on my opinion ( sorry - bro)

And that is the perfect question -- asking people what they enjoy instead of the normal Sherdog standard of telling them what they should enjoy.

I prefer Fedor's fights, but I've watched and enjoyed GSP's fights too. He's technically very good, especially his jab, his takedowns, and his timing. And I'm one of those people who enjoy watching skill -- its like watching a good pitcher in baseball, or a good defense in football, basketball or hockey. In fact, I suppose that's the best analogy. Some people like to see scoring (in fact for a lot of North Americans that's their complaint against soccer and to a certain extent hockey -- not enough goals). But some people watch sport to see technique -- the Steeler's defense in the '70's, Dennis Rodman or Bill Russell in the NBA, Lindsrom or Chara in the NHL, pitchers like Randy Johnson in MLB.

That's the thing about humans, what we enjoy varies widely. Its why some of the top selling movies are drama's, and some are action flics. Why there are rock stars who've made hundreds of millions, and opera singers who've made hundreds of millions. Why different people like different sports in the first place. I'd say it'd be a lot stranger, almost inhuman, if everyone agreed either that GSP was entertaining or that he was boring. People just don't work that way. Some people will enjoy his fights, others will find them boring. That's just how it is with everything.

No correlation what so ever.

GSP battered Koscheck with his boxing and changed his face forever.

Shields poked GSP in the eye numerous times and still got outstruck and also rocked by GSP who had one functioning eye.

Saying “supposedly” in regards to the eye pokes is telling.

Not sure whether you are trolling or just plain stupid at this point

It means little to nothing that you double down on your opinion. No one takes that right as it landed. Plenty or most take a jab or a hammerfist from the bottom.

I don't buy that you consider it more embarrassing than a ko from a hammerfist from the bottom. You're just being difficult now. Fess up.

He "gets a pass"? He doesn't need a pass in a fight that he won, does he?

I think you're really just sour because he made your boy quit after claiming GSP was the quitter. It's clouding your judgement and putting a twinge of butt on your posts.
