The earliest WELL ROUNDED fighters?

depends.. even Marco aknowledged that they owed him nothing. They created this thing and they were from the BJJ Nation, why would they help the Luta Livre Nation?

To prove GJJ is the best? Wasn't that the point of their UFC?

Marco was already invited to the original famous challenge Luta Livre vs BJJ in 1984.

Marco Ruas vs Pinduka (BJJ).

Even Marco said they owed him nothing, by the time they lauched the UFC.

The first fighter that I saw as a complete package was Carlos Newton.

Obligatory
Can anyone tell what event this was from?

Teilu Tuli was pretty "well rounded". And he fought in the first fight at UFC 1!

Ruas and Frank have been mentioned a bunch so i won't mention them

Don Frye was pre ufc 10 and very well rounded (Judo Brown Belt, High level D1 wrestler, and former pro boxer).

Guy Mezgers name rarely gets thrown around an i'm not sure why. He was a professional kickboxer, a state champion in wrestling, and brown belt in BJJ.

Frank Shamrock has said that training with Mezger was the reason why both fighters where so successful (both where extremely well rounded, especially given the time period).
