Media The Dirtiness of Jon Jones exemplified by the Rampage fight

Heres the problem T.S
.

This fight took place in 2011...
The rules then didnt actually have fingers out as a penalty...

That change came in 2017...

So most if not half of these are not Infact fouls
...at the time of the bout...

https://www.mmafighting.com/2016/8/...ce-and-changes-to-mma-unified-rules-explained

Heres an article talking about the new rule change this was several years after this fight...

Before this change there was no foul for having your fingers out towards your opponents face...

Just saying...Jones is obviously acting unsportsmanlike doing this...

But foul it was not unless blatantly shooting it forward like a strike...which he has done in fights...

From the article above

Extended fingers
Eye pokes have been a topic of controversy lately. They are fight-ending, career-damaging illegal maneuvers. Under the original rules, referees could do nothing about it until it was too late and the poke was already landed. The new rules empower referees by making it a foul to extend your fingers outward toward an opponent's face, which could lead to an eye poke.

Previously, a referee could tell a fighter to close his or her hand, but the ref had no recourse — a point could not be taken. Now, it can be if a fighter continues to extend fingers in the direction of an opponent's face.
I sorta agree - the debate I had with another guy was that he claimed Jon did not stab Rampage in the face more than once. Which is clearly wrong.

However, it was still illegal to poke eyes, which is what Jones were trying to do(as he has admitted himself). That he did not hit Rampages eyes/face more than 50% of the time were just accidental. As Rampage says (paraphrased) - "I kept askin the ref to stop the eyepokes"

And I could do this writeup with any of Jons fights, and the result would be the same. He has not changed his fighting style at all.

Since you are apparently triggered enough to make a whole new post. I will also repost this here as well

Well, I am happy you at least went and at least partially watched the fight. Some advice for the future, starting off your posting with a list of every anticipated response is a bad look. It projects insecurity that discredits the points you try to make after. Next time just make your points with confidence without trying to preemptively dismiss any response.

3:37 - yea looked to hit the groin area, ref should have been in position to see it and at least broke the clinch
5:54 -

You - Sticks his fingers in his face!
Reality - Nope, nowhere close, a good foot at least from even the top of his head

6:03 -

You - Jones immediately stabs his fingers toward Rampage's face
Reality - Nope, nowhere close again.Jon is moving backwards

6.37 -

You - Jones stabs his fingers in the air towards Rampages face
Reality - Nope, nowhere close again, clearly reaching towards the hand

There is a pretty clear pattern here so I'm not going to keep going.

As I said in the other post -
" 1. It didn't happen <----- You are here"

I did the rewatch of this fight because of a discussion with a guy in another thread. The writeup took some time, and I think it deserves his own thread (The fight is linked at the bottom of the post). So here we go

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I gave it a rewatch, and fuck, Jon was even dirtier then I remembered. I know what you (A jon Jones fan) are gonna say though -

1. It didn't happen
2. If it did happen it was not that bad.
3. If it did happen, and it was that bad, it is not Jones fault.
4. If it did happen, and it was that bad, and it was Jones fault, it was an accident.

But fuck it - here we go anyways for my own amusement-

The faults I put in here are those where he literally stabbed at Rampage with open fingers, not all the times he just has his hand out with open fingers waving towards rampages face (except at 17.34 because it is so damn blatant and lasts for 5 seconds) - 30+ faults. Hell, I gave up writing them up after 12 faults.
(Fight is linked at the bottom)

3.37 - Jones blatantly knees Rampage in the nuts
5.54 As soon as Rampage goes forward, Jon sticks his fingers in his face
6.03 Rampage block a kick and Jones immediatly stabs his fingers toward Rampages face to stop his momentum
6.37 Jones stabs his fingers in the air towards Rampages face
7.30 Stabs fingers toward Rampage
9.23 Jon legkicks and stabs at Rampages face at the same time
9.24 Rampage pushes forward - Jon defends by stabbing his fingers in rampages face
10.34 Jones kicks and stabs at rampages face at the same time
10.45 Rampage tries to push forward, Jones defends by stabbing his fingers in rampages face
10.47 Jon keeps distance by stabbing fingers in Rampages face
11.27 Rampage pushes forward. Jon defends by stabbing his fingers in rampages face and clearly hits him in the eye
11.59 Jones kicks and stabs his fingers in rampages face at the same time

Basically any time Rampage tried to move forwards, he was met with fingers to the face. As Rampage said - As soon as you do something good, he pokes your eyes.

Rampage on Jon Jones -

Thank you for spreading God's word brother!

But seriously, good effort and good argument. I've obviously somehow kept living, but I've spent years arguing that his level of cheating really is being swept under the rug, and that "if he fought now, live, and you were watching it, the whole, ref, and commentary booth (lol especially DC) would be howling about it. . . and it's like yelling at a wall. So good work.

If ya already knew the responses you'd get from the jump, why start this shit thread anyway?

One line you say you think it warranted a new thread - 13 years after the fact, mind you - the next you already know the rebuttals, so what is the point?

Water is wet type thread. everyone but lunatics will agree with this. He used nasty eye pokes in the DC fight too like his reach/size/abusive roid advantage was not enough.
Yeah, its like debating with flat earthers. I find it funny and interesting to see how good they are at their mental acrobatics. These guys so far has been pretty boring though and are just going "Nuh-uh" while ignoring facts.

Rampage on Jon Jones -

jon Jones on his eye-pokes

Be careful he can find random people online that are not nice with him <lmao><lmao><lmao>

Arguing that JJ doesn't intentionally jab his fingers to his opponents eyes is stupid. It is a clear strategy of his fighting style. People trying deny that it happens is just denial. It is really comes down to whether you feel it is dirty or not. There are always going to be fighters that push the boundaries on what is legal and JJ is one of them. He uses eye pokes (or atleast, the threat of eye pokes) and kicks to the knee how other fighters use the jab and teep kicks. Effective? Yes, especially with his reach. Dirty? Subjective, but IMO yes, JJ has no issues with cheating and fighting dirty if it gives him an advantage.

What makes it even more fun and dillusional is - Jon has admitted himself that he is doing it, and even when these guys know that, they will still go nuh-uh. I find fascinating how peoples minds can work.

Jones is human garbage and isn't remotely close to being in the GOAT conversation.
