CBS News said:
Trump's support decreases as education level increases. Rubio has the opposite impact: his support increases as education increases: Trump won 53 percent of voters who have a high school education or less, 41 percent of those with some college, 37 percent of college graduates, and 28 percent of those with postgraduate degrees. Rubio won 13 percent of those with a high school education or less, 20 percent of those with some college, 25 percent of college graduates and 30 percent of those with postgraduate degrees.
Trump voters are angry at the way the federal government is working, want a temporary ban on non-citizen Muslims, and are very worried about the direction of the economy. Trump runs most strongly among less affluent voters and those with less education.

Sixty-four percent of Republican voters support a temporary ban on Muslims who are not U.S. citizen from entering the U.S. Of those, 44 percent voted for Trump, 24 percent for Rubio and 16 percent for Cruz.

Of the 32 percent of voters who opposed a ban, 49 percent voted for Rubio, 22 percent for Kasich, 11 percent for Trump and 13 percent for Cruz
That's really what this election is about.

The angriest, most xenophobic, least intelligent, least informed, least educated voters are hijacking a plurality and steering Hillary Clinton towards the White House. It's ironic given the invective they spew at the base that drove Obama to the White House (perhaps most salient is that Obama's appeal trended opposite of this among voters-- including among whites):

Like it or not, that group obviously holds a huge amount of power in the GOP. Candidates will move more towards them during primaries in the futire for votes too now that it is so obvious. Its a good thing for liberals as GOP candidates will become more and more unelectable with changing demographics. Tea party primary challenges could make this effect more pronounced.

Couldn't you say the same thing about Obama and Hillary respectively targeting the black vote?

I guess it's OK when your team does the exact same thing though, eh?

Meh.

Pubio should stick to foam parties and wearing high heels.

Rubio and Cruz and the rest all pander to stupid people, and would laugh at poor people as they die on the streets.

If Trump panders better, power to him. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

So funny the war party that goes to instill democracy around the world is scheming to undermine Trump's POPULIST popularity. Like because his support comes from "stupid people" the system churns out, democracy shouldn't matter any more.

Oh, BTW, Trump was against the Iraq invasion wasn't he?

And lastly, lot of well educated people, perhaps the vast majority, are quite ignorant on economics, international relations and how the world really works and actually think Iraq was invaded because of WMDs.

Rubio and trump are only 2% apart in the postgraduate. Trump doubles his some college and is 32% higher in the college graduate category. He trumps him in the poor category but still beats him in all but postgraduate by a lot as well.

I haven't spent much time reading everyone's plans and whatnot so I don't know much about each persons campaign yet. However last night I thought trump sounded pretty good and Cruz/Rubio were just trying to smear him by repeating the same stuff over and over. Most of the stuff they were saying was spun bs from what I've read.

I can't for the life of me rationalize the support for any of the 3.

i will save my judgment until they mine that data a little further and break it down to candidate support by specific academic degree.

Actually Trump wasn't against the invasion until after it happened. His so called statement about the invasion was that Bush should be concentrating on the Market right now.

Or maybe people are sick and tired of career politicians and want real true change. The fact that Trump is despised by politicians and the media are only helping his cause.

Regular people can't relate to politicians anymore. The fact that our current president has never had a job goes to show how out of touch politicians are with the middle class.

What actual change is Trump promising? Other than deporting Muslims (which he cannot do) and building a wall to Mexico (Which will not happen or help) what actual change has Trump proposed?

its not ironic because these voters are fully commited to giving up White House chances if it requires a compromise for a moderate Republican. They have tasted the sweet nectar of an extremist populist, and they are not willing to back a CUCKSERVATIVE any longer. Somewhat mirrors whats going on with the Dems and diehard Sandernistas.

Word.

Personally I'm tired of getting fucked over by mechanics so I'm going to an accountant to fix my car

Getting rid of the Environmental Protection Agency and Dept of Education, of course! Very realistic.

Link? Stats? Relevance?

...and a real estate mogul who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, appeared on reality TV, and talks out of both sides of his mouth, is someone you personally feel you can relate to?

Is "relate to" now synonymous with, "saw on reality TV"?

I disagree. What we are witnessing is a modern day revolution. This is about people who have felt powerless and ignored for so long trying to take power back. It's mostly the middle class who are not poor enough for the democrats to pander to, and nowhere near rich enough for republicans to pander to. This is more about voting against the establishment, than voting for trump.

I'm a registered Republican. I just this week changed from unaffiliated since open primary laws don't extend to the Presidential election. I am supporting Rubio and Kasich.

I have ranted against Clinton this entire cycle. Even more damningly, Obama won all of the black vote (highly educated included)-- do you understand that? Of course not. See my sig. You're barely literate. SMH.

This isn't subjective. It's objectively outlined in the CBS article you didn't read. These voters are themselves declaring themselves as "angry" and citing their most prominent issues to be a temporary (and completely un-American) ban on all Muslims entering the country. Their lack of education also isn't a matter of opinion.
