This isn't exactly a gotcha question mate. It's a two minute video. Can you really not articulate what you like about the video, or where exactly AOC was "destroyed?"

What are you defending?

A) She tried to call him the author, was corrected he wasn't.

B) She tried put a position on him he didn't hold, got corrected.

C) Tried to combine legal asylum with illegal immigration (the blue special) and was embarrassingly corrected, as he told her the actual code that empowers enforcement against illegal immigration, and pointed out to her how no one is talking about the legal path.

She looked like an idiot, attempting to paint someone into a corner but failing, and attempting to combine two separate issues.

What did you see in that "2 minute video" worth defending?

Well I appreciate someone actually attempting to defend the source. Apparently, that's quite the tall order for most on this board.

But is that really how you'd summarize that exchange? It looked a lot like one guy squirming from giving a concrete answer. Not rebuttals.

The average exchange was:

AOC: So you signed off on this recommendation?
ICE: I signed off on a lot of things. I did it to save lives.
AOC: Yeah, but you signed this one right here, recommending child seperation.
ICE: I recommended lots of things on that memo. It probably saved lives.
AOC: Yeah, but you specifically said that this particular policy is the one you are recommending and signed it.
ICE: I've had tons of conversation and have signed many things. They were always done to save lives.

That doesn't come off as someone correcting anyone. It comes off as a guy dodging the question. And I get it, he doesn't want to be the one responsible for a such a stupid policy.

That part is accurate, but you stopped right before it got ugly.

So she basically tries to conflate legal with illegal, two completely different subjects. Then during the convo shifts it from "legal people" to "seeking" to "noted". Not the best showing there I'd argue.

This should probably be it's own thread but my god. The idiots in congress. This Tom Homan fellow has more patience than I have. It's like talking to a brick wall. If you are an ILLEGAL, you are demonstrating that you have no regard for federal law. It doesn't matter how great of a father you are. It doesn't matter how hard you study in school. Those actions have nothing to do with willfully being an ILLEGAL immigrant deciding that you don't deserve to go through a proper point of entry like every other hopeful migrant.
