The left wing wants change, the right wing wants the status quo. The democrats want the status quo. They want corporate dominance over civilian life. They support big business, low taxes for the wealthy, they support the military industrial complex, hands off capitalism, the continuance of the student loan debt bubble, and the private insurance model to continue. They are by definition right wing. The issue is just that the overton window in the US is shifted SO FAR to the right that you actually believe a center-right party is on the left, which is just cute, and demonstrates nearly everyones lack of understanding of politics.
