Apparently you aren't aware that this entire planet has been dealing with floods since the beginning of time. It has always rained, and always will.

Our planet has also gone through many many changes in weather and temperature over the last few billion years.
All you're doing is repeating talking points cooked up the Koch brothers. Congratulations, you've officially been brainwashed by billionaire energy executives. This insanely reductionistic talking point is repeated ad nauseum on this forum and many others. Do you have anything of substance to say?
It's sad that people think the EPA is any part of what stands in the way of chaos. Brainwashed fools. Focused more on being right than in figuring out what is right. So they run to the first "team" that accepts them and subsequently outsource their individuality to the heirarchy of their foolish, self-serving group.
The EPA is the largest and most powerful regulatory body regarding the environment. It is the best we have. Or maybe you're of the opinion that the best solution to climate change is having more babies and taun tauns?

I think I'll side with the opinions of experts (not AOC) over a rando on the internet. Extreme weather events that are beyond "normal" extreme weather events are absolutely because of climate change. I'm sure you were of the opinion that climate change is a hoax 10 years ago so forgive me if I don't defer to your opinion on the matter.

Scientists with a liberal tint who know where their paychecks and grant money come from.

Michael chrichton(a scientist) loved to talk about how scientists are the biggest groups of liars and frauds on the planet. And they are pissed bc they want more money.

Ignorant public school America gets spook fed the fallacy of ‘appeal to authority’ and brother, the ignorant masses eat that up.

Might as well have Steven Colbert in their heads 24/7. They can just give up

The flooding in my state has nothing to do with climate change. Back in the 60s people made homemade ice cream for the Fourth of July with the ice still in fields from a flood

We’ve had floods like it in the 40s 50s 60s and 90s

She’s dumb. And she’s one of those insufferable assholes that blames anything weather related that ever happens on climate change
Well, that's just like, your opinion man. Because the actual scientists studying the issue are saying it is due to climate change.

Scientist > brainwashed cult member on the internet.

Being educated tends to skew people towards being liberal. I'm sorry if that russles your jim jams. Most scientists live thankless and middle-class to poor lives. It's hilarious that you right-wingers imagine scientists as being these white-coated millionaires in billion dollar labs laughing maniacally at all us plebs as they concoct vast conspiracies to drain the world of its money as they sip champagne.

I'm not having a formal debate with you over the reality of climate change, so you invoking the appeal to authority fallacy means nothing. I'm not debating you. I'm telling you you're an idiot, that I don't give a fuck about your opinion, and that I do give a fuck about the claims made by scientists.

lol... His book, State of Fear was great.

He corrected predicted the shift of using "Global Warming" to "Climate Change" so that all sorts of the weather phenomena could be included in the hysteria.

Or maybe it's because climate change is actually more scientifically accurate and more accurately reflects the data? You're right, he has the UN Agenda 21 world extermination playbook and knows every move they will make because he's such a genius!

I think many in the science community have pointed out a number of things rising numbers of powerful weather events they point to a 400% increase since 1980 in billion dollars of above weather events some reaching as high as 255 billion dollars in damage. Even if you don't believe in the green new deal you can at least agree there are things we can do as a Country to prepare for events such as building retaining walls for potential flood areas to increase funding for water mitigation and flood planning for areas with droughts or potential for flooding. Exxon CEO famously said farmers can just move to areas where they can continue to grow their crop and raise livestock seriously he said that one.

So what's the difference between Scientists and Engineers?

Why are Engineers typically conservative? Maybe it's because our careers aren't beholden to begging from money from institutions or corporations and ostracized for having an independent thought apart from the collective. Maybe it's because when we make mistakes, we're held responsible. We can't put out random, garbage theories, hoping they'll work.... Like Climate Scientists have been doing for almost 40 years.

Research in the 21st Century is mostly a joke now. They're all compromised by the funding they receive. Any "Climate Scientist" bold enough to question the smallest part of the narrative is scolded and thrown out on their heads.

lol... Look at your fucking gabage above. I'm not debating you... because I'm right and your wrong. It's a fucking microcosm of what College Universities has become today. Disgusting. There's no debate by the Left anymore... just hysterical yelling and name calling.

Go on Trigglepuff, have your hissy fit.

I like discussion and debate. I'm not 100% or the other, that's dumb. Corporations have their interests and Environmentalists have theirs. I'm a naturally skeptical person. And the more people are jumping up and down, screaming to make their point, the more skeptic I become.

Especially when I hear "Scientists" try to scare people with garbage predictions like

- Snowfall will be a thing of the past (Now these days they say "Climate Change" is making snow fall worse... What the fuck ever)
- The Earth will spin faster.. (or slower)
- The Polar Bears are dying
- Crop Failures
- We're all dying in 12 years....

lol.. Get the fuck out of here

He’s amazing. Love his books

And that idiot poster commenting on this has lost his mind.

This stuff happens. And EVERY time there is a weather event, it’s deemed climate change by assholes like him.

Insufferable twats

You sound like such a defeated coward. Someone says something you don't agree with on the EPA and your response is to manufacture a bullshit position to stamp them with. How did you get so emotionally weak?

Part of science is being wrong. Part of conducting research is being wrong. It's not the place of an engineer working for lockheed martin to spend large amounts of time and money trying to develop the next engine, unless they're in R&D. How much money do large engineering firms spend on R&D? Millions or billions. So to say they "cant put out random garbage theories hoping theyll work" is demonstrably wrong. Engineering companies spend countless dollars on projects that never flesh out. So what the fuck are you talking about?
Research in the 21st Century is mostly a joke now. They're all compromised by the funding they receive. Any "Climate Scientist" bold enough to question the smallest part of the narrative is scolded and thrown out on their heads.
LOL. Right, so a scientist making 70k/year is "compromised" because they have to apply for government grants, but the millionaire engineer working for a defense contractor totally isn't compromised. Yeah, research in the 21st century is a joke because a random guy with no credentials says so. Research makes your fucking world go 'round. It's how we develop the next batch of drugs, how we develop new space flight technology, how we develop better psychiatric medication, how we do many many things that continue to improve modern civilization.

The burden of proof is on you pal. There is a large body of evidence supporting these claims, along with the vast majority of experts behind those claims. All you have are random rogue industry funded contrarian scientists that are making money hand over fist by spouting energy industry talking points.

I like discussion and debate. I'm not 100% or the other, that's dumb. Corporations have their interests and Environmentalists have theirs. I'm a naturally skeptical person. And the more people are jumping up and down, screaming to make their point, the more skeptic I become.
Wow, what a rational and scientific way to conduct your thinking. Sounds like you're more of an edgelord contrarian and less of a rational thinker.
"Hey guys, I'm totally a super rational and scientific thinker! The more people agree that X is happening, the more I say that X is not happening! Aren't I smart?!" LOL beyond pathetic.

Especially when I hear "Scientists" try to scare people with garbage predictions like

I like how you think putting scientist in quotes does anything to damage their credibility. It doesn't take away their phd's or their body of research. For every climate prediction they got wrong that you reactionaries like to hyper focus on, there are 10 climate predictions they got right. But right wing media doesn't advertise them, and for the most part the fake liberal corporatist media doesn't either.

How did you get to the point where you can type out three sentences without actually saying anything at all? The emotionally weak one is YOU, and the rest of the climate deniers who A) appeal to futility ("there's nothing we can do about it! its the climate! its too big for us!") and/or B) engage in spouting Koch brothers talking points that they spread through their vast propaganda networks.

Hmmmm.... what's more emotionally weak...? Being brainwashed by propaganda or thinking humanity is strong enough to rise up and deal with the greatest existential threat we've ever faced? The answer is clear.

Now i'm a "climate denier". The only weapon cowards have is labels and accusations. They don't know how to argue because everything triggers them into a fear based response.

Wind only blows sometimes this guy is your President. He knows a lot about wind "Wind bag".

Buddy, this is now the THIRD comment you've made to me without saying ANYTHING of substance.
"fear based response"
"brainwashed fools"
"defeated coward"
This is beyond cringy.
Do you have anything of substance to say to me, anything of substance to debate about?
I've given you *SUBSTANCE* in every response to you.
I said:
-the EPA is the largest regulatory body we have in regard to the environment
-you're repeating talking points given out by a specific group

SUBSTANCE MOTHERFUCKER, DO YOU SPEAK IT?!

Say something SPECIFIC about a SPECIFIC group or POLICY. Every post I've made in this thread has substantive claims or information in it. You are just repeating nonsense over and over again.

He's not perfect.

Still better than hillary.

He will be president for 4 more years.

People seem to think he has this in the bag when you actually leave the Sherdog bubble you find a lot of disgruntle people especially in the midwest who feel that not enough is being done. West Virginia has still seen job loses in coal country, Ohio has started to become more of a problem for Republicans. States like Florida and Pennsylvania could be an issue with the right person. No I was never a Hillary fan but I still don't get why people keep digging her up it would be like me saying still better then Jeb.

Appeal to authority. And completely wrong on my stance on climate change. But yeah, stay comfortable in your echo chamber rather than face reality. Your pretentious virtue signaling shows everything about you.

I spend half my days posting on and reading 4chan, listening to Jordan Peterson, Gavin McInness, Steven Crowder, and listening to fox news. Tell me again how I'm in an echo chamber you fuckin dotard <45>
Invoking "Appeal to authority" fallacies only works if I'm debating you to affirm an issue. I'm not debating you. I have no interest in it.
