I forsee in the near future, maybe not now for the Hollaway fight but soon, khabib will start to become very drained by the weight cut. We've seen it time and time again with fighters that struggle. Anthony Johnson, Hendricks, PVZ, Barao, ect. It seems the body can only be drained down like that so many times.

I give Khabib one more fight at 155 before we begin to see some significant performance decline based on his history. That doesn't mean we won't see an upset though. Every weight cut is a gamble when are as heavy as khabib.

Yeah his "inhuman pace" will be hard to keep if he is draining himself with every weight cut. He needs to move up but he's too stubborn and fixiated with being the "best 155er" for some weird reason. 155 and 170 are both the best divisions in the UFC

He's turning 30 and has talked about moving up before.

I think he's aware of this danger

I figured something like this would be the excuse when Khabib gets put to sleep by Conor's left hand.

Worked for Whitaker... and the guy wasn't even big for 170. He would be a contender with in a fight or two... Plus Khabib - Woodley... who wouldn't be interested.

His coach already has a plan to move up. Just this fight and one more. Then up to WW. So I don’t know how much of a seer one has to be to see it’s a drain. I don’t think two more fights is asking too much. Especially this close to possibly being the champ.

He made weight easily in his last fight with Barboza. Now that he's hired a nutritionist and is laying off the tiramisu it doesn't seem to be a big problem. I don't think his cut to 155 is necessarily any tougher than the cuts half the UFC roster are doing regularly, there are a tonnnnnn of guys with massive cuts.

the difference is, none of those guys fight at the pace Khabib does. fighting like that wears not only on your opponent, but yourself also.

Well I wouldn't say NONE of those guys fight at the pace Khabib does, there are definitely some that do. And its not like he's fighting a ton. He's had 9 fights in 6 years in the UFC.

Khabib should have always been fighting at 170 but he knows he'll look human in that division.

If Khabib moves up he gets absolutely tooled by Woodley. All of his takedowns would be stuffed, and he'd get dropped 2-3 times en route to a UD-loss.

really? who else at 155lbs fights at the pace Khabib does? cuz i don't know anyone.

he's had 9 fights in 6 years because he's always injured, it's not like he had 9 fights in 6 years because he wanted to.

that just further strengthens my point, fighting the way he does, being as big as he is, AND constantly being injured, it's not a sustainable thing he's asking of his body. something has to give at some point. you can't be burning it at both ends forever and expect there isn't some kind of repercussions.

This forum has been khabibified! Every other thread is about His Excellency Khabib.

Tony fights at a similar pace and has a similar weight cut as well. Nate Diaz too, fights at a crazy pace and has a huge cut to 155. Max might even have a bigger weight cut when he cuts down to 145 and he fights at a high pace as well.

But yeah, Khabib likely will eventually go up to 170. So many fighters say they will move up and never do though... So I'll never presume anything until it happens.

For sure, he wont have the power, size, and strength advantage he has at 155.
I still think he beats a lot of WWs (Gamebred, RDA, Colby, Maia). But yeah, he gets finished by Wonderboy or Till. Usman would probably work him. Tyron could KO him but he's far too safe to risk losing a round.

Dude it's a Woodley fight, lots of people won't be interested.

because they are racist

Khabib doesn't always fight at a crazy pace. Khabib was very active against Barboza in the first and then economical in the second and third.

Tony is generally as or more active, for example.

you guys are all fucking nerds.

khabib will move up to 170 and drop everyone on their heads and smash them. woodley would get smashed by the pressure. woodley's penchant for putting his back against the cage in reaction to pressure would be a gift to khabib.

woodleys only chance would be to do his straight forward flurry. guys one dimensional. has zero lateral movement.

tyquils muslces mean shit when hes crumpled on the canvas getting beat down by big ears.
